The day is deliberately kept at an easy pace after the long train journey. Around 13:00 we leave the hotel for Akademgorodok, one of Novosibirsk's most distinctive areas. Set within Siberian forest, it was built for scientists during the Soviet era and is known today for its quiet, nature-close way of life. On arrival there is a short forest walk, guided exploration and free time. We then continue to the banks of the Ob River for a riverside walk, photo breaks and free time at local cafes, taking in the quiet rhythm of a Siberian summer. This stretch is more about observing daily life than a conventional city tour. We return to central Novosibirsk in the late afternoon, with the rest of the day free.
