Perito Moreno Glacier boat cruise close to the towering ice walls
El Calafate · Argentina1 hour
About this experience
Near El Calafate, the boat approaches the ice walls of Perito Moreno Glacier. The face rises from the water like a wall full of blue cracks, and its scale only sinks in as you draw closer. Once the boat holds still, cracks and groans carry across from the ice.
The wind comes off the ice and is very cold, so bring gloves, a hat and a windproof layer. The trip lasts an hour, so go out early to find a spot on the outer deck. Stay quiet for a moment to hear the ice crack.
