Vietnam and Cambodia Tour: 9 Days with Singapore Airlines

We meet at IGA Istanbul Airport at 09:00, and after ticketing, check-in and passport procedures we prepare for our flight. Singapore Airlines flight SQ 391 departs Istanbul at 13:15, taking us via Singapore to Siem Reap, Cambodia. We rest on board through the night and land in Singapore in the early hours.

After our layover in Singapore we land in Siem Reap at 09:50. We are met at the airport and transferred by private vehicle to the city centre, where we check into our hotel. After a short rest, the rest of the day is free time in Siem Reap. You can take a short walk through the centre, browse local markets, or enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Angkor region. The Old Market, Psar Chas, and its surrounding cafes and boutiques are a good place to spend the time. We return to our hotel at the end of the day to relax. After breakfast we check out of our hotel and begin exploring Angkor Wat, the largest temple complex in the world. Our guide shares insights into the Hindu and Buddhist periods, the mythological scenes carved into the stone, and the temple's history. Lunch is at a local restaurant, and we capture unforgettable photos against Angkor Wat's magical silhouette. In the late afternoon we return to the hotel to rest. After breakfast, before leaving Siem Reap, we head to Tonle Sap Lake, one of Cambodia's most important natural treasures. On this, one of Southeast Asia's largest freshwater lakes, we take a tour by traditional wooden boat to see the floating villages up close. The houses, schools, fishing boats and daily rhythms of life on the water reflect Cambodia's authentic culture. In the afternoon we set off for Phnom Penh by private vehicle, a pleasant road journey of about five to six hours through the countryside, passing rice fields, palm trees and village life along the way. After breakfast at our hotel we begin exploring the history and cultural fabric of Phnom Penh. Our first stop is the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda within its grounds. Adorned with gold, silver and precious stones, these structures offer a close look at Cambodia's royal tradition and Buddhist beliefs. We then walk through streets shaped by the French colonial era to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, a striking perspective on Cambodia's recent history. In the afternoon we take a short walk along the Mekong River, followed by free time at Phsar Thmei (Central Market) or the Russian Market, with the chance to shop for silk scarves, handmade souvenirs and local products. After breakfast we leave Phnom Penh and head by private vehicle towards the Vietnamese border. After border formalities we continue towards Ho Chi Minh City, known as Saigon, through the lush landscapes of the Mekong Delta. After a pleasant journey of about six to seven hours we arrive in Saigon in the afternoon. On arrival we take a short city tour to see Vietnam's modern and historic sides: Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office, landmarks of the French colonial period, and the former Presidential Palace (Reunification Palace). We then take a short walk around Ben Thanh Market, with free time for shopping. In the evening we enjoy a special dinner at a local restaurant, sampling the finest of Vietnamese cuisine. Early in the morning we leave our hotel and head to the Cu Chi Tunnels, which carry the most striking traces of the Vietnam War. With our guide we explore the underground living quarters once used by the Viet Cong, along with the narrow passages, hidden rooms and defensive traps. After lunch the rest of the day is free: a good opportunity for shopping at Ben Thanh Market, experiencing Saigon's coffee culture, or a final walk through the French colonial streets. In the late afternoon we return to Saigon and transfer to our hotel. Accommodation: Eden Star Saigon Hotel (4-star) or similar.

After breakfast at our hotel we check out and head towards the branches of the Mekong River. On our Mekong Delta boat tour we glide through palm-lined canals, stopping at small settlements to observe the region's traditional way of life. We sample tropical fruit at local farms and spend time immersed in traditional music and culture along the delta. Lunch included. At a time set by our guide we head to Tan Son Nhat Airport. After baggage and passport procedures, our journey back to Istanbul begins with Singapore Airlines, via Singapore. We spend the night on board.

We spend the night on the plane and land in Istanbul at 08:45 in the morning. After passport and baggage procedures, our journey through Cambodia and Vietnam comes to an end.
