Fourteen days that bring four countries into one journey. The Indonesian leg opens in Jakarta and continues with a jeep safari and a botanical garden near Bogor. In Yogyakarta, the ninth-century Prambanan and Borobudur temples are followed by a short safari at the foot of the Merapi volcano.

In Kuala Lumpur the route takes in the Petronas Twin Towers, Merdeka Square and the city's cultural mix. An overland crossing leads to Singapore, with Marina Bay, Gardens by the Bay and Orchard Road. The trip closes in Bali: Tanah Lot Temple, traditional craft workshops, and a few days by the sea in the Kuta area.

01Istanbul to Jakarta

We meet at the International Departures Terminal of Istanbul Airport at 22:30 to begin the journey. Turkish Airlines' direct flight departs for Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, at 02:45. After roughly 11 hours in the air we land in Jakarta at 18:00 local time. After being welcomed at the airport, a short transfer brings us into the city's energy on the way to the hotel, where we settle in for the night. Flight details: TK56, Istanbul 02:45, Jakarta 18:00. 02Bogor Jeep Safari and Botanical Discovery

After breakfast we head for the Bogor region, set in the countryside. Waiting jeeps take us on a short safari through rice fields and village roads. We then walk among the lotus ponds and towering trees of the Bogor Botanical Gardens (Kebun Raya Bogor), home to one of the world's most significant tropical plant collections. After lunch at a local restaurant we return to Jakarta in the late afternoon. Meals: Lunch included. Accommodation: Santika Premiere Slipi Hotel, 4-star.

03Flight to Yogyakarta and Prambanan Temple

After breakfast we transfer to the airport and fly to Yogyakarta, Indonesia's cultural capital. On arrival we visit Prambanan Temple, a monumental ninth-century Hindu complex. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, its towering spires and intricate architecture carry us deep into history. Flight details: Garuda Indonesia, Jakarta 11:30, Yogyakarta 12:50. 04Borobudur Temple and Mount Merapi

Today we set out to explore Borobudur Temple, the largest Buddhist temple in the world. Walking among its ninth-century meditation terraces and reliefs, we take in views of the surrounding volcanic peaks. After lunch we take a short jeep safari at the foot of Mount Merapi, still an active volcano, observing the dramatic landscape shaped by its lava flows up close. Meals: Dinner included. 05Crossing to Malaysia: Kuala Lumpur

After breakfast we transfer to Yogyakarta Airport and fly AirAsia to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's modern capital. After a roughly two-and-a-half-hour flight we arrive in this metropolis, with free time after check-in to explore the surroundings and shop. In the evening, the lit-up streets of Bukit Bintang show off the city's energy. Flight details: AirAsia, Yogyakarta 11:45, Kuala Lumpur 15:15. Accommodation: Hotel Royal Kuala Lumpur, 4-star.

06Kuala Lumpur City Tour

We begin a thorough city tour to discover the heart of Malaysia. The first stop is the iconic Petronas Twin Towers for a photo break, followed by exterior views of Merdeka Square, the historic Sultan Abdul Samad Building, the National Mosque and the Royal Palace (Istana Negara), a window onto Malaysia's cultural mix. 07Overland to Singapore

After breakfast we set off south on the Malay Peninsula in a private luxury coach, a journey of roughly five hours. Modern highways lined with palm and rubber trees lead to the Malaysia-Singapore border. After passport and customs formalities we enter Singapore, one of the world's most orderly city-states. After checking into the hotel we take a first exploratory walk through the city. Transportation: Overland transfer by private luxury coach. Accommodation: Singapore central hotels, 4-star.

08Singapore: Marina Bay and the Gardens

The day begins with the iconic Merlion statue and the Marina Bay area. We then visit the futuristic Gardens by the Bay, with its vertical gardens. After taking in the multicultural fabric of Chinatown and Little India, there is free time on Orchard Road, the city's shopping heart. In the evening there is a chance to watch the light show at Marina Bay Sands. Accommodation: Singapore central hotels, 4-star.

09Flight from Singapore to Bali

After breakfast we transfer to Changi Airport, ranked among the world's best, and fly to the island of Bali. After a roughly two-and-a-half-hour flight we land at Denpasar Airport. After passport formalities we settle into the resort hotel in the Kuta Beach area, with a first taste of the tropical air. Flight details: Singapore to Denpasar. 10Tanah Lot Temple and Traditional Crafts

Today we visit one of Bali's most recognizable landmarks, Tanah Lot Temple, set on a rock in the middle of the ocean. After this sixteenth-century Shiva temple, we are welcomed into traditional craft workshops that reflect Bali's character. Watching batik painting, wood carving and the fine work of local artisans brings us closer to the island's cultural depth. Accommodation: Holiday Inn Resort Baruna Bali, 5-star.

11A Day by the Sea in Bali

A full free day in Bali's relaxed atmosphere. There is time for the ocean, the beach, or the hotel's spa and massage services. Accommodation: Holiday Inn Resort Baruna Bali, 5-star.

12Tropical Island Life in Bali

Today is the last full day on the island. Guests who wish can shop at local markets, visit the monkey forest, or join an optional excursion to Bali's rice terraces. Accommodation: Holiday Inn Resort Baruna Bali, 5-star.

13Return Flight from Bali to Istanbul

After a last few hours by the sea in Bali, we check out of the hotel in the evening. Turkish Airlines' direct flight departs for Istanbul at 21:05. The night is spent in the air. Flight details: TK67, Denpasar 21:05, Istanbul 05:40 the next day. Accommodation: Overnight on the plane.

14Arrival in Istanbul

We land at Istanbul Airport at 05:40 in the morning, closing a 14-day journey that ran from Indonesia through Malaysia and Singapore to Bali. ---
