Hotel Around Takayama

We stayed for three nights. Due to an issue with the online booking system on Agoda, our reservation for an executive room was unfortunately not successfully processed, and the hotel only received a booking for the smallest standard room. However, the hotel staff were very helpful and proactive in resolving the situation. They managed to arrange a larger twin room for us, which provided much more space. Although we needed to change rooms once during our stay, the room size was comfortable and sufficient for both my husband and me. We truly appreciate the hotel’s effort and thoughtful arrangement. Their assistance made our mountain trip a very pleasant and memorable experience. Highly recommended!

Stayed at Hotel Around Takayama and overall had a very comfortable stay. It is about a six minute walk from the station, making it very convenient and close to the centre of town. The hotel itself feels very new and well maintained. Facilities were good, including the onsen style hot spa with separate areas for men and women, which was clean and easy to access. The rooms were well presented, the beds were firm and extremely comfortable for a great night’s sleep, and the shower pressure was fantastic. Amenities in the room were also very good and hard to fault. The only slight disappointment was the coffee. It could have been better quality and was not replenished when we requested more, which felt a little inconsistent with the otherwise premium feel of the hotel. What stood out most was the friendliness of the front desk staff. Every time we needed assistance or had a question, they were approachable, helpful and accommodating. Overall, a very comfortable stay in a convenient location and I would happily stay again.

This has been our favourite hotel so far. Super location, really friendly staff and the bed was huge which is unusual in Japan! The rooms in general are lovely and really powerful showers. Our only 'complaint' is we didn't like the breakfast but I think this is a common theme in Japan. The 'Western style' breakfasts just aren't what we would usually eat. Really great hotel though - thanks for a great stay!
