Villa Cerniglia

The room is not like in all the pictures of Booking. I feel scammed in some way. Even the worst room should feel worth the price. But at 200€ per night in June you simply expect more than a basement room. Location is okay but could be better as the old town is a 20min walk away and the beach in front of the appartment does have a lot of rocks but is okay, the eastside is a little bit better in this regard. I know its just a B&B but I at least expect the floor cleaned and not having someones hair laying around in the corners or ants in the bathroom. If I could afford it, I would have switched to hotel nearby. It‘s definitely an uncomfortable experience I had the first night in Sicily and I am lucky only having booked 2 nights. I don‘t understand the good scores for cleanliness on Booking. Also everything is very humid and the walls seem to fall apart.

Unfortunately, my experience in this place was very disappointing. In the two rooms at the street level in Villa Cerniglia, there was visible mold and moisture damage on the walls, ceiling, and furniture especially around the air conditioning unit. The smell of dampness was constant, and there’s clearly no proper room ventilation, which only makes the problem worse. It’s evident that these issues have been present for some time without proper cleaning or maintenance. For the price paid, I expected a clean, comfortable, and healthy environment not one that raises hygiene and health concerns. Overall, a very poor experience, and I would strongly advise the management to address these problems urgently. Until that happens, I cannot recommend staying here.
