Cefalu Sea Palace

Nice hotel, nicely maintained building and location is fine (busy touristic street so it is understandable that parking there is kinda difficult, even though they have their own parking lot up a tiny hill). Breakfast is okay, but nothing too special. Swimming pool is nice and they have their own beach that they share with another hotel. The bad part: service. Poah. I have never seen such a bad service in my life. Even though they sell themselves as a 5 star hotel, it is really bad. No help, no friendly staff. Prices are through the roof if you want to order something (!!!€7!!! for a small coffee Americano), and if you decide to buy something in the local supermarket, they get really upset. We had a bottle of cola and a package of chips in the roof and the hotel decides not to give you new towels for days... They are childish and no fun. If the service is not important to you; this hotel is nearly ideal if you visit cefalu. If service is a little important for you: pick a different hotel.

Lovely hotel with super friendly and helpful staff. Great sized pool with plenty of sun loungers. Unfortunately, the bedroom let it down. Comfy bed, but bedside wall lights too far away from bed so unable to read. Against the wall opposite the bed, was a very large table with a centre drawer and stool which would be great as a dressing table, but unfortunately there was no mirror. There was a full length mirror in the room, but no socket to plug in hairdryer or hair tongs. Had to use one on the opposite wall which was inconvenient as flex trailed across the floor and had to keep reminding my husband not to trip over it on his was to the bathroom! A few tweaks and this hotel would reach its five star rating.
