Hotel Riu Dunamar

We had an amazing stay at RIU Dunamar, and it turned out to be one of our best vacations! The hotel is relatively new and very well maintained. Our room was spacious, spotless, and cleaned every day. Housekeeping did an excellent job replacing towels, making the beds, and keeping everything fresh. We had a balcony with a beautiful ocean view, and the location of our room was perfect. It was quiet, with no noise from the evening entertainment or nightclub. The elevator made getting to our fourth-floor room very convenient. The only thing I would have preferred is a king-size beds. The biggest highlight of this resort is the food. My compliments to the chefs! Every meal was outstanding, whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner. There was a great variety of fresh, delicious food every day, and we were never disappointed. The steakhouse was especially impressive. The steaks were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Everything was so good that I wanted to try every dish. The resort is easy to get around, and it’s only a short walk to the beach. There are plenty of loungers by both the pools and the beach, and the palm trees provide plenty of natural shade. We visited in late June and early July, and the water in both the sea and the pools was wonderfully warm. The property is clean, well organized, and staffed with plenty of friendly employees, so service was always quick. There were never long lines, and everything felt well managed. There was only a small amount of seaweed on the beach, and the staff cleaned it up every morning with tractors, so it was never an issue. The water parks were another highlight. The kids’ water park is fantastic, with shallow, warm water and slides for different ages. The larger water park is just as much fun for adults and older kids. I rode every slide, and they were all a blast! You need to be at least 1.2 meters (about 4 feet) tall to use the larger slides. We also enjoyed watching soccer (World Cup 2026) at the sports bar, which is open 24 hours a day. It has pool tables (40 pesos per game), making it a great place to relax in the evening. The drinks were good. While they don’t serve premium liquor, the cocktails were well made and enjoyable. Overall, we had a fantastic experience. The excellent service, delicious food, beautiful beach, clean facilities, and fun activities made this one of the best vacations we’ve had. I would absolutely recommend RIU Dunamar to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable all-inclusive resort in Mexico.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Hotel Riu Dunamar and the people who work here are what truly made this trip unforgettable. Every staff member we met was kind, hardworking, and genuinely caring. From the front desk team to the restaurant servers, bartenders, housekeeping, and entertainment staff, everyone went above and beyond to make us feel special every single day. The level of service and positive energy throughout the resort is incredible. You can tell the employees take pride in what they do, and their smiles and attention to detail created such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. They made our anniversary celebration feel personal and memorable, not just another hotel stay. The resort itself is beautiful, the food was excellent, and the beach is amazing, but it’s the people here who truly make Hotel Riu Dunamar stand out. Thank you to the entire team for making our anniversary so special — we will always remember this experience and cannot wait to come back!

Spent eight days at the resort. On the second day my wife inadvertently left her IPhone at the breakfast table. The IPhone was stolen, not by another tourist but by someone at the hotel because through Find-My-Phone we found it was taken to a low-income area of Cancun called Paseos del Mar. The Hotel Management stated it was not possible to file a police report and neither the local management or RIU headquarters did anything to assist. Management stated "Guests are solely responsible for their own belongings..." although several employees stated Paseos del Mar is a residence for a number of the resort employees. Other comments. A beautiful location where the majority of employees are very pleasant. Two of them, Sergio M and Beatriz P deserve special mention for their excellent work. The Spa services and gym area are small but adequate. The rooms, we had several rooms in our group of ten guests, were clean and well maintained. The food and beverage quality is definitely substandard. Quantity is more iimportant than quality. Plenty of food, several choices of meals, but nothing tasty.
