Honeyrose Hotel, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

I loved our stay here! The hotel is beautiful and in such an accessible area. The bed was comfortable and the rooms felt spacious for two people. We took advantage of the gym, spa pool, sauna, and terraces while we were here, and it made our stay extra comfortable. I also appreciated that there were lots of spaces throughout the hotel to sit and get some work done. We didn't interact with the staff much, but they were lovely when we did encounter them. It's evident that they work hard to make sure every guest has a great stay. The decor is gorgeous, and the attention to detail throughout the hotel is immaculate. Even the parking lot has pink! I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

I was underwhelmed by my stay at this Marriott property. There was a long wait at check-in while the one front desk agent was dealing with an issue of some guests. It took a while before another agent came to help. As a gold member, a room upgrade is an expected (though not guaranteed) benefit, and although they did not upgrade my room, I would have appreciated some other gesture. The room itself was unremarkable with an awkward layout. The closet and safe were in the bathroom. There were no slippers in the room. Minor detail but the curtains were manually controlled as oppose to a button and only one side of the bed had controls for the lights. There were specific towels in the room to be used at the pool with the expectation that they are brought back to the room. No towels were available by the pool. The kitchen for room service closes at 10:30pm (though the restaurant stays open until 11), and I called at 10:25pm to place an order and was told the kitchen was already closed. I understand it was already late but where is the line drawn for closing earlier than the listed time? Overall it was a fine experience, but I would not return for my next Montreal visit. Also the nightly parking price is fairly reasonable, but do note that the garage is rather small and tight.

We stayed at the Honeyrose for 5 nights as part of a honeymoon trip to Canada. We enjoyed our stay at the Honeyrose, but I don't feel I can give it a full 5-star rating. The rooms seemed very new and well appointed, but they weren't perfect - no plug sockets near one side of the bed, quite a complicated lighting system, and the shower leaked into the bathroom every time it was used. The power switch on the mirror was very bright even when everything else was turned off. The fridge is not fully integrated into the unit that contains it, so it shifted around when being opened and closed. The tablet (which provides information and can control the lights) could not retain any battery charge, so had to stay on the stand at all times. The decor was somewhat off-putting - two large portraits of a woman's face a few feet from the bed, a huge image of a woman looking through a keyhole facing you when you sat on the toilet. I found the housekeeping somewhat lacking - we came to check in at about 5pm and the room wasn't ready because allegedly the supervising housekeeper was checking it - but when we got to the room, the first thing I saw was a dirty coffee table covered in water marks and rings from mugs. We were there for 5 nights, and on the first full day, our room hadn't been cleaned during the period we were out - about 10:30am-5pm. I asked at reception if we had needed to do anything to get the room cleaned, and just got a 'no'. Throughout the stay, housekeeping regularly missed cups throughout the room. The reception desk was not as friendly as I am used to and we weren't given any information about the hotel at check-in, nor any sort of apology for being made to wait. Overall, the Honeyrose is a very nice hotel, but I suspect there are hotels in the area that offer more value for the same price. Our experience was not as special as we had hoped for.
