Clarion Pointe OKC Airport

I recently stayed a week here while some work was being done on my apartment, and it was mostly-good. The good parts: All of the staff I interacted with were polite and professional, and someone was always present and visible at the front desk to assist guests, even late at night. My room was clean and very comfortable, and the bed was so good I had a hard time making myself get up in the morning; it was like sleeping on a marshmallow cloud. The microwave and mini fridge were clean and worked well, and the air conditioner kept things nice and cold during a spring heatwave. I brought my PC along since I would be there for a week, and the free hotel wifi was strong enough to play online games like Dead by Daylight without any lag. The free breakfast was totally fine. Mon-Fri it is a vegetarian mostly-cold breakfast (yogurt, fruit, boiled eggs, cereal and milk) with the option to make a waffle or toast breads, bagels, or make instant oats with the hot water thermos provided. On the weekends it's a hot breakfast with egg & sausage patties, as well as biscuits and gravy, and the waffles, breads, etc. are still available as well. Now for the not-so-good parts: I did see another review say that they went down for breakfast an hour before it ended and found that not much food was left, and I think I know why: I went down an hour and a half before end of breakfast one day and I honestly thought it was closed early at first, because all of the housekeeping staff were in the area, a mop and cart parked outside, and some walking away with multiple plates and bowls of food, others coming in and out of the staff-only area to check on their waffles, toast, etc. I wouldn't even say anything except some of them who were making waffles and toast acted like I was in their way trying to get some breakfast for myself as a hotel guest, and that made me feel uncomfortable. Another problem is that, I think because the rates are so reasonable, and because the economic situation both nationally and locally is so bad, there seem to be people living in the hotel long-term, and this creates a problem mostly with luggage carts being kept by guests in their rooms (the lady at the front desk informed me there are supposed to be four, but I never saw more than one available at a time, and sometimes zero available, which turned my check-out into a work-out, getting everything I needed for a week out of my room and down to my car), but also with things like, people congregating in the stairwells, which felt a little sketchy at times when I observed this happening. I also think that even though the hotel is non-smoking, some guests might find that their rooms smell like cigarette or marijuana smoke (mine did not, thankfully) because I did observe from the parking lot when coming and going in my car, guests opening the windows to their rooms and just hanging their heads out the window to smoke, rather than exiting the hotel and taking it completely outside like they should. Even with those issues, I would still stay here again if the rates remain as reasonable as they were when I booked my stay.

Our family stayed there this last week. The outside of the hotel is not kid friendly nor family friendly. The pool was disgusting with paper, trash, leaves and someones floaty just in the pool and this was after hours (our son was excited so we took him to look at it) and our room was filthy. The shower curtain had blood stains on it, there was chewed gum on the ice bucket (my husband did not use it because of that alone), microwave was dirty and did not work, there was dirty socks left from the last guest. I went to go wash my hands and there wasn't any complimentary soap anywhere in the room, we had a standard room with 2 Queen beds and the blankets had burn holes. My husband went for more towels and had an experience with the host. The host I spoke to in the morning was the only pleasant experience during our stay, I was taken care of as our family moved to a different hotel but also still currently waiting for the hotel to continue its actions. Other than that we didn't have any other inter actions with the staff. If you are a single person and just absolutely need a place to stay they have beds is the only positive thing I can currently say.

Service at front desk? Excellent. Room? Filthy. Smelled very strongly of dogs that haven't had baths in months. Filth rings on the nightstands. At least the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very bright and the shower clean. But the shower didn't get hot. It barely got warm after 20 minutes. I didn't see any bugs; no roaches or anything else. It's not a very clean hotel, the exit stairway near my room had bags of trash on the floor that remained from the time I arrived until the time I left and it smelled like dirty diapers in the stairway. Very dimly lit but at least the entry door is always locked. The area felt safe. I didn't bother with breakfast because the smell in the room took my appetite away so I can't tell you anything about what they offered or how suitable it was. This was booked by the company I work for, I would never stay here again even though I'm truly grateful that I had a safe and comfortable place to sleep last night.
