The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is a standard way for an AI assistant to call a service. The MBD Travel MCP server lets assistants read the public tour, hotel, experience and visa information that is on our website. When your assistant looks for a tour or asks the price of a hotel, it calls this server and tells you the answer.
The server only reads. It does not make bookings, hold rooms, take payments or reach into your account. When you want to buy, the assistant sends you to the matching page on our website.
1. Connection address
Public address: https://mbdtravel.com/api/v1/mcp/public
You do not need to sign in or use a token or API key. The transport is Streamable HTTP: send requests with POST and the reply is one JSON body. Server-sent event streams are not offered.
When you add the connector in ChatGPT or Claude, choose "No authentication" (ChatGPT) or "No sign in" (Claude).
2. Tools
The server offers twelve tools. All of them are read-only and change no data.
- search: free-text search across the catalogue (tours, hotels, experiences, visa).
- fetch: full detail of a record returned by search.
- search_tours: tour search with country, city, maximum price and date range filters.
- get_tour: a tour itinerary, inclusions and exclusions, and cancellation terms.
- get_departures: departure dates and prices of a tour.
- compare_tours: several tours side by side.
- find_last_minute_tours: tours with a departure soon.
- browse_destinations: browse countries and cities.
- list_hotels: hotel list, filtered by country, city and name.
- quote_hotel_stay: live hotel price for dates, guests and nationality you give.
- search_transfers: private-car transfers (Dubai and Istanbul) at a fixed price per vehicle; for Istanbul, the airport and the hotel district or side.
- quote_transfer: the vehicles needed and the total for a transfer and party size.
3. Example requests
You write to the assistant in plain language and it picks the right tool. These work well:
- "Suggest a tour in Japan in May, up to 10 days."
- "List hotels near the beach in Dubai."
- "Compare these two tours side by side."
- "Are there tours leaving in the next two weeks?"
- "What is the price of this hotel for 1 to 5 November, two adults, Turkish nationals?"
4. For developers who want to call it directly
To list the tools:
curl -s -X POST ADDRESS -H "Content-Type: application/json" -H "Accept: application/json" -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/list","params":{}}'
To call a tool:
curl -s -X POST ADDRESS -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":2,"method":"tools/call","params":{"name":"search_tours","arguments":{"query":"japan"}}}'
Replace ADDRESS with the connection address above. Supported protocol versions: 2025-11-25, 2025-06-18 and 2025-03-26.
5. Limits
The server is narrow on purpose. This endpoint does not do, or does not return, the following:
- Bookings, room holds, payments, cancellations and changes. These happen only on our website.
- Personal data. The server does not ask for or receive a name, phone number, email or passport detail, and it cannot reach your account or orders.
- The whole catalogue. A published part of it is offered. There is no tool for activities; the assistant sends you to the relevant page. Not finding a product here does not mean the product does not exist.
- Final prices. Prices are for information. Each price comes with the condition it applies under. The final price and availability are confirmed on the purchase page.
- Live hotel prices are asked from the supplier at the moment of the request; no price is returned without dates, guests and nationality.
6. Usage limits
Fair-use limits apply: 60 requests per minute for each IP address and 4 requests per minute for live hotel prices, plus one shared limit for all users and a daily ceiling for live prices. If you pass a limit the server replies with status 429 and a Retry-After header that says how many seconds to wait.
Bulk automated copying of the catalogue is not the purpose of this endpoint and may be blocked.
7. Privacy
The server uses the search text, dates, guest numbers and nationality the assistant sends only to build the reply. The server log records which tool was called, which fields were sent (field names, not values), the outcome and the duration. Your IP address is counted in memory for the rate limit and appears in web server access logs, as it does for our whole website.
What you write to your assistant belongs to the provider of that assistant (ChatGPT, Claude and others) and is covered by its privacy policy. You never need to type personal data to the assistant for this server.
