Our stay at the Mitsui was incredible. The staff are very attentive and friendly from the moment you arrive. The hotel also has nailed the design — it fuses contemporary and traditional elements and has a very zen feel. The rooms were well appointed and very large. There was always someone checking in on us and offering to help with anything we needed. Lastly, the hot springs were beautiful and very relaxing. We appreciated that it required swimwear which created a more comfortable experience. I highly recommend booking a garden view room.

This is a must stay location. It was absolutely beautiful. The staff was friendly, courteous, and welcoming. The room was clean with great views. We were upgraded because it was our honeymoon. Turn down service left a different treat at our bedside every night. Breakfast was incredible (and plenty of food). Highly recommend the banana pancakes. The shower and bathroom area was luxurious, as well as the spa area. We did massages, and we agree - best massages we've ever had. The welcomed us with green tea and a treat and left us also with green tea and a treat. This hotel was by far one of the best experiences of our trip.

The Hotel Mitsui Kyoto was easily the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. From the moment I arrived, the level of service stood out, every interaction felt thoughtful, genuine, and seamless without ever being overbearing. The property itself is stunning, blending modern luxury with a calm, refined atmosphere that fits perfectly with Kyoto. The rooms were beautifully designed and incredibly comfortable, with attention to detail you notice more the longer you stay. On top of that, the food and drinks were consistently excellent. Whether it was a quick drink or a full meal, everything felt high quality and well executed. Overall, it’s the kind of place that raises your expectations for what a hotel experience should be. I’d go back without hesitation.
