Walk beneath the Torii gates at Fushimi Inari Shrine
Kyoto · Japan
About this experience
Fushimi Inari Shrine is one of the best known Shinto shrines in Japan and one of the signature sights of Kyoto. A path winds up the hillside through thousands of vermilion torii gates.
Walking between them is what makes the visit: the gates close in around you and the colour never lets up. The path climbs, so wear comfortable shoes and go at your own pace.
