Rocco Forte The Charles

Truly a 5 star hotel, only 2 blocks from the train station, and 2 blocks from the old city, right on the edge of a lovely city park. The lobby is beautiful, the level of service is great, the breakfast in their restaurant is fantastic, but the best part, for me, was the room. Very spacious, comfortably furnished, the bathroom was large, luxurious, with a separate tub, shower room, and toilet/bidet room. Air conditioning kept up well with the 100 degree (40 degree) heat wave. My companion enjoyed the spa with it's comfortably heated pool and heated stone loungers.

One of the absolute best stays we’ve had! So impressed by how welcoming they are to little ones, from high quality cribs and baby bath toys to the nicest staff. The location is stunning — close to everything but quiet and leafy, which allows you to take a breath. Highlights: - stunning breakfast both at the restaurant and in-room. Don’t miss out on the mimosas that are included with the buffet! - beautifully tiled pool. Reminds me of the Bulgari in Rome but even nicer sauna and steam facilities. Massage was also good but nothing super memorable. - afternoon nibbles and bubbles, the absolute best dirty gin martini at the Florio bar (whoever the young bartender Sunday night was is so talented) - lobby bar isn’t a bar anymore but is a lovely hang out place to read or play a game. Thank you to all the staff for being so so warm and inviting. More than how things look, it’s the hospitality you *feel* and they more than delivered. Can’t wait to be back!

We spent the month of December exploring the Christmas markets throughout France, Switzerland, and Munich. It was truly a once in a lifetime trip. We stayed in exceptional hotels, dined at Michelin starred restaurants, and experienced some of the very best hospitality Europe has to offer. This hotel was the highlight of our journey. From the moment we arrived, it was obvious this property operates at an entirely different level. Like the finest luxury hotels, the staff already knew who we were, who was traveling with us, and our preferences. Every interaction felt personal, thoughtful, and genuine. The location is excellent, the rooms decent, the dining was first class. But decent rooms alone do not make a great hotel. What separates an outstanding property from an ordinary one is its people, and this team is extraordinary. Every member of the staff at all levels consistently went above and beyond. Their attention to detail, professionalism, warmth, and sincere desire to make every guest feel welcome is something rarely experienced.
