Great location in heart of downtown. We were on the back side of the hotel so noise didn’t bother us that much. I didn’t need earplugs and slept well. Loved the buffet continental style breakfast. To enter hotel, you need to go into a small alley and then up a narrow twisty staircase. I don’t think that there is an elevator so be prepared to carry your luggage up the staircase. Room keys are waiting on a board on the wall with your name on a paper next to them at the 1st floor landing. Note that there is no lobby or desk. I share this not as a criticism but just by way of information. As other reviews state, this is an old building and our room and bathroom were small and cramped, but clean and otherwise comfortable. For the price, I don’t think you can beat this hotel.

Ideally located, walking distance from the train station and on the happening side of Zermatt. Huge rooms, very spacious. Quite dated and feels old. No toiletries were provided and the ensuite kitchen was available at an addional 100chf. This wasn't intimated in advance. The office was closed when we got there the room had our name on it but we found it by accident. The room was unlocked and available for use. No one came to check on us nor asked if we needed anything. We met the management at check out. She offered complimentary breakfast for just the last day.
