A truly exceptional hotel experience! From the moment we arrived from the train station, we were warmly welcomed and pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade. Our luggage was promptly taken care of, allowing us to settle in effortlessly. The room was beautiful… featuring a little balcony, a spacious separate seating area, large windows, a mini fridge, and super comfortable bedding and pillows. Every detail felt thoughtfully curated. Breakfast was wonderful, with many fresh offerings. The scrambled eggs, in particular, were among the best we’ve ever had. The location of this hotel is unbeatable, and the level of care and attention throughout the property truly stands out. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable stay.

It’s actually an amazing hotel. Very, very big. But it certainly is misleading at 1st. The side of the hotel towards the Main Street is not the face of the building. The face and the entry are from the side street. Also, since this is a car-free city, the section between the beginning of the driveway and the building, is setup as the outdoor seating area - which also falls between the entrance and the indoor pool section. The hotel doesn’t look like it, but has MANY amenities: a BEAUTIFUL indoor pool section, jacuzzi, sauna, relaxing room, sun bed, INDOOR tennis court (closed at the moment). Very many smaller sections for lounges, TV section, bar, game room, … The lobby is VERY small and looks like a 2-star hotel lobby, but you will be very pleasantly surprised.

I have stayed at the Hotel Alex on many occasions over many years. The consistency is remarkable. I enjoy Zermatt in both winter and summer and find the Alex to be my hotel of choice. The service, food, ambiance, location, comfort and on and on have hooked me over the many years I’ve visited. The Alex is not just a hotel, it is a place where one lives while not at home. I am so pleased to write a glowing review because I feel so comfortable every stay. I am not compensated in any way to say such nice things about this establishment. I have found a true home away from home even though it is nearly 4,000 miles away from my residence. Trust me, you will feel at home as well.
