Pinia Hotel & Resort

The hotel is nice, all the staff is helpful. We booked with half-board, for a week stay it was not boring. The Borscht soup was phenomenal and the goulash and venison were super. Our children played a lot in the outdoor playground. We enjoyed the internal pool and it was nice surprise there are many ring what can be borrowed for free. Our room was clean and tidy upon arrival. During our stay the weather was hot (33 degrees) and we have to open the windows at night the reduce the internal temperature. Our room was next to the hotel entrance what was noisy till 11 p.m as that is the only place where the smoking is allowed in the hotel. It was difficult to sleep for our children till the terrace got empty. As we were next that place, we thoughted the smoke comes from the terrace, but we did found it out on our last night, one of our neighbor smoked a lot on his balcony and the smoke intrude into our room. The another annoying thing is the logging started really early, 5:30 a.m.!!!, on workdays in the nearby forest. When the chainsaw was started as the windows were open you woke up instantly.

We booked a 4-night stay in August. When we arrived, we found the hotel to be very old and outdated. The children were excited to go to the pool, but as soon as we entered the pool area, our eyes started burning from the extremely strong chlorine fumes. My youngest child also developed a rash after being in the water. Needless to say, we did not use the pool again during our stay. Breakfast is served only until 10:00 AM, which we found relatively early compared to the other hotels we stayed at in the Czech Republic. What was more disappointing was the service — at exactly 10:00 AM, we were asked to leave even though we were still in the middle of drinking our coffee. The breakfast itself was also very basic. It was difficult to get assistance at the reception, and most of the staff spoke very little English, which made communication challenging. We had booked 4 nights but decided to leave after only 3. What surprised us most was that no one even asked why we were checking out a day early. Overall, unfortunately, this was a disappointing experience.

Located just outside the city, this resort sits at the perfect starting point for hiking and walking trails, exactly what we were looking for. Peaceful and the surroundings are beautiful, making it easy to truly switch off and recharge. A special shoutout to the gentleman running the breakfast station — his pancakes and eggs were an absolute highlight of the stay. On the flip side, the age of the structure does show in places, and a few items in the room were in need of some restoration. Nothing that ruined the experience.
