Pestana Douro Riverside

Just returned from a week at the Pestana Douro Riverside. We had a wonderful time, the views from the poolside and restaurant were stunning. The staff were so friendly and attentive especially the restaurant staff including Juliana, Wellington and Matheus to name a few. The reception staff were also helpful and we were offered free drinks on arrival and help taking the bags to the room. The reception area is beautiful the decor in the hotel is gorgeous. We slept liked logs, the beds were super comfortable, the air conditioning kept us cool and the blackout curtains were appreciated. We got macarons in our room on the first day and free replacement soft drinks in the mini bar. The outdoor swimming pool was not too deep nor too crowded or noisy and there was never a battle for a sun lounger. It was definitely busier by the pool late afternoon as it was warmer weather wise and day trippers returned from exploring. We also enjoyed the cool calm of the indoor pool which we often had to ourselves. There was also a gym next to the indoor pool. In the evenings we sat out listening to the guitar player and enjoying the views with drinks from the bar after a busy day. There was a great barman who made a delicious hot chocolate. There was also a table football and snooker table to enjoy. We loved the Pestana Douro Riverside as the staff made us feel special and it had a real personal feel.

Our stay at Pestana Douro Riverside was simply outstanding and exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and professionalism. The reception team was efficient, friendly, and made us feel at home immediately. The hotel itself is modern, elegant, and beautifully designed. Every area is impeccably maintained, creating a luxurious yet relaxing atmosphere. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and offered wonderful views of the Douro River. One of the highlights was the beautiful indoor and outdoor pool area, perfect for relaxing after a day exploring Porto. The bars and restaurant were excellent, with attentive service and delicious food. Breakfast was another standout, offering a wide variety of fresh, high-quality products that catered to every taste. A special mention goes to the incredible scent throughout the hotel. It creates a unique signature atmosphere and makes the entire property feel even more luxurious and memorable. Although the hotel is located just outside the historic center, reaching Porto is quick and easy, allowing you to enjoy the city while returning to a peaceful riverside setting. Pestana Douro Riverside is a fantastic choice for anyone visiting Porto. Exceptional service, beautiful facilities, outstanding comfort, and an unforgettable atmosphere. We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it.

The hotel staff were great. Friendly, attentive and helpful. Our hotel room was closest to the river and it was a beautiful view. The rooms were clean, modern and comfortable. The pool on the rooftop was nice and the bar had good drinks and food. They may have been understaffed because the rooftop bar and food took a long time to receive. Otherwise, we had an overall lovely stay for our honeymoon.
