LUX* Grand Baie

We stayed at LUX* Grand Baie for 5 nights in a two-bedroom residence with a private pool on a half-board package. The residence itself was excellent—very spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed with a modern yet cozy feel. It was perfect for a family stay, and the private pool added a nice touch of privacy and relaxation. The beach is sandy and pleasant, while the rooftop lounge has a great atmosphere and serves one of the better shishas we’ve had at a resort. That said, there were a few drawbacks. Our residence overlooked the street rather than the resort or the ocean, so the view wasn’t particularly appealing. The half-board package was also somewhat restrictive, with dining limited to one main restaurant and the rooftop tapas venue. Compared to the beaches in the south of Mauritius, especially around Le Morne, the water here wasn’t as crystal clear. We also found Grand Baie’s weather to be noticeably cooler during our stay than the warmer, sunnier conditions in the southwest. Overall, LUX* Grand Baie is a stylish, luxurious resort with fantastic accommodation and a great ambiance. If you value modern design, comfort, and being close to Grand Baie’s vibrant atmosphere, it’s an excellent choice. However, if your priority is the clearest turquoise water and consistently warmer weather, the south of Mauritius may have the edge.

Piece of paradise!!! Lux Grand Baie has certainly exceeded our expectations on our recent family trip! From the super refreshing welcome cocktail, to the thorough guide to our rooms and facilities the hotel is the pinnacle of modern, understated sustainability. The spa....AMAZING! The food options....just enough to keep you full for the entire holiday, especially if you have the pleasure of meeting Chef Lorraine at breakfast!!! Those savoury pancakes....TOP! The grounds are not massive but somehow it never feels like a typical hotel chain...everyone manages to get their own little hidden corner and truly relax! Thank you to Alexander who was super helpful and caring throughout our stay!!! Obrigado! Small touches like the treasure hunt for hidden bottles ( lovely treats to be uncovered) and fruit or ice cream on the beach during the day made holiday that much more enjoyable! Thank you all very much and hope to see you again soon!

True hospitality at its finest. One of the last pure 5* star hotels that you can live. The team, the grounds and attention to detail is out of this world.
