Joni Hotel

We stayed at Hotel Joni for six nights and had an overall very pleasant experience. The hotel has a great location in the heart of Ksamil, with plenty of restaurants, supermarkets and other shops within walking distance. The staff were consistently very kind and accommodating. Our room and bathroom were spacious, nicely furnished and in very good condition. A special compliment goes to the cleaning staff, who did an excellent job every day and were always friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also very good, with plenty of different options to choose from. Coffee from the machine had to be paid for separately, while instant coffee was provided free of charge. This was not a major issue, although my inner cheapskate usually convinced me to stick with the instant coffee. There is also a very cute souvenir shop on the ground floor with many different items to remember your holiday by. The main downside for us was the parking situation. The parking spaces and the narrow access route can already be quite tight depending on how many cars are present. Leaving the car there throughout the stay should not be a problem, but using it daily was sometimes troublesome. In the late afternoon and evening, parked cars were occasionally boxed in by other vehicles, apparently belonging to people only staying in the area for the evening. Since we used our car regularly to visit different beaches around the region, this made getting in and out rather inconvenient. Perhaps our room was an exception, but the air conditioning was also unable to cool it as much as we would have liked, even after leaving it running at 16°C for an entire day as a test. There was also no noticeable airflow into the bathroom, which at times felt several degrees warmer than the bedroom. After showering, we often had to leave the bathroom quite quickly to avoid immediately starting to sweat again. One additional heads-up for future guests: before our stay, the hotel contacted us through both Booking.com and WhatsApp to confirm the reservation. I replied only through Booking.com, and the payment was subsequently charged before our arrival. As I understood it, this happened because I did not also confirm through WhatsApp. This was not a problem and there are no hard feelings, but it may be useful for future guests to respond through both channels. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend Hotel Joni, particularly because of its central location, comfortable rooms, excellent cleanliness and very friendly staff. I would give the hotel therefore 4.5 stars.

I do not have enough words to describe the experience at this hotel. First of all, the staff and the owners are absolute sweethearts, genuinely kind people. The food was excellent as well. We ate quite a lot in their restaurant, and the portions were generous, with very good quality. At breakfast, everything was fresh, and they tried to vary the options each morning. The coffee is instant (not my favourite), but for 1.50 euro you can order a large Turkish coffee, and they prepare it properly. The room was tidy; towels were changed every 2-3 days and the bed linen every 3 days as well. You have all the amenities you need, and in room 302, where we stayed, there is a very large balcony with shade throughout the day - absolutely perfect. The hotel is ideally located, placing you right in the heart of Ksamil while still within easy reach of the beach. I usually don’t leave reviews unless the experience is either terrible or extremely good, but these people truly deserve to be known. We also had a small incident with a car blocking ours in the hotel car park (which can accommodate only a limited number of cars), but the staff intervened and helped us quickly. Special thanks to Claudiu, as well as Lilo and the rest of the team, they made our stay memorable. Highly, highly recommend this place!

I was extremely happy with the service here. The waiters are very friendly and helpful. Apar from doing their job well, they also are always willing to help out with tips to enjoy the city as best as possible. I ate dinner for the two nights I stayed here and the food was delicious. Everything was freshly prepared and you could tell that the seafood was local. I especially recommend the mussles.
