Hilton Garden Inn Glasgow City Centre

We stayed for one overnight for a friends wedding. We paid £189 non refundable for the room, which is more than we have paid for any other Hilton Hotel we have stayed in. Given the price we would be expecting an excellent room and service. The room was very small and rather dated. It was also extremely hot given the weather and the bed was very uncomfortable. The worst part was I had requested an early check in and had been told they couldn’t guarantee that. We needed to go to a wedding at 1pm and the standard check in is 3pm. We arrived at the hotel at 12:30, expecting to drop our bags and check in later. When we arrived the staff member told us that they had rooms ready but it would be a £25 early check in charge. She asked if we could wait til 1pm when it would be free and we said unfortunately not. Once we saw the room the extra £25 became a bit of a bug bear, and given the fact the rooms were actually ready, it’s a bit ridiculous we are asked to pay. The member of staff working on breakfast was extremely good, he was the friendliest and most helpful person we encountered. I left a review on booking.com stating the above and someone has responded saying “records show I checked in at 12:32 and standard check in is 3pm, hence the charge”. Maybe rather than giving that response you could have reached out to me to clarify instead, why did you staff member say we wouldn’t need to pay at 1pm if that’s the case. Because of the response I’ve now left this review and reduced the score to 1 star. If there was an easier way to give feedback to the hotel directly I would but I’m not wasting my time phoning Hilton customer services. Basically, the quality of the rooms is absolutely not worth the money and we were quite clearly ripped off with the early check in and the response from the customer team wasn’t great.

I recommend highly. Friendly and helpful staff and great location to walk in Glasgow. Hotel is situated on riverbank of river Clyde and it has lovely sunny terrace to have a beer, lunch or breakfast. Breakfast is excellent and you can have bacon and fried mushrooms just as well as yogurt and berries with cereals.. great value. Hilton Garden Inn is situated so that you can walk to sights in center, science center or museum ship Glenlee, distillery, Riverside tech museum and so on.. Finnieston restaurants and cafes are also just around the corner and you can enjoy variety of food or quality coffees in relaxed atmosphere. Glasgow is friendly, local beer is excellent and Pubs are fun to roam. Glasgow should have marketing campaign: COME AS YOU ARE Great city to visit.

A fantastic stay from start to finish. The rooms are amazing—modern, comfortable, and consistently clean. The check-in experience is always a highlight; the team is incredibly friendly and makes you feel welcome immediately. Breakfast is a must here. The selection is great, and the haggis is particularly tasty—a proper treat to start the day. A special mention must go to the breakfast team, who are professional, attentive, and keep everything running smoothly even when it's busy. Perfectly located by the Finnieston Quay, it’s a top choice for anyone visiting Glasgow!
