Eurostars Palace

This is really a five star hotel in Cordoba. Room is spacious and clean, with a jacuzzi! Staff work very hard to make sure everything is perfect. It is a walking distance to all of the sightseeing places and the train station. We wish we could stay longer. BTW, you don’t know how grand the Mezquita is until you come to see her.

Location for the hotel is fantastic. I have some issues stemming with the day I checked in. A seemingly nice person, Pedro checked us in and reviewed our passports and all our documents thoroughly, totally fine. His attitude towards us was very pompous and immediately was a turn off, but we ignored it as this is just one person. The room was what we expected, we were 2 adults, 1 child, 1 infant. Upon entry to the hallway, there was construction going on for a hole outside our room, the hallway smelled rancid, and the door to the shower didn’t work (which was a major issue given how the showers are here). The door not closing created a slipping issue that my daughter tripped on plenty of times. I requested a crib and someone to check the door as I didn’t want to be responsible for any issues to the room - both to Pedro. It took about 4 hours to get the crib, and 4 requests of the crib at various intervals, the first being check-in. The door days later has not been addressed. Since that time we found out the phone in the room doesn’t work so I’ve had to dial out internationally just to get simple questions to things. Our keys to our room stopped working 6 times so far on the trip, and while they are quick they get them working again - there is no rationale if the keys are around electronics or not that they just lose the ability to give room access. I truly believe this hotel is a 1 star hotel masquerading as a 5 star hotel and I have no doubt that they will find something in our room to charge us for that we aren’t responsible for structurally. I’m truly not a fan of pompous attitudes and while the location is nice, I would absolutely pay a little more to be elsewhere than to be at this hotel again. Pros: Rooms are quiet Roof pool area is nice but the service is pretty slow The bar area in the lobby is excellent and they were incredible at basic customer service, something that did not seem innate to our check-in process. Cons: Fitness Center is under lock and key Rooms have structural issues that create problems (at least ours did, maybe it was a choice as to where we would go). Phone in room didn’t work and there was no expediency to resolve any of our issues. Truly if you are coming to experience Cordoba, you most likely aren’t spending a lot of time at your hotel. If your hotel is memorable or terrible in the time you are there it can really make or break your trip.
