Traces of Belgrade Tour

We meet at the Türk Hava Yolları counter in the international departures area of Istanbul Airport 3 hours before the flight. After completing baggage, ticket and passport procedures, we depart for Belgrade at 08:20 on Türk Havayolları scheduled flight TK1081. We arrive in Belgrade at 08.10 local time and travel to the city centre in the vehicle waiting for us at the airport. We begin our panoramic city tour of Belgrade. During the tour, we see the city's daily life and its important buildings. These include the Ministry of Interior building, which was bombed by NATO and deliberately left in that condition in the middle of the city. We then leave the bus and continue on foot. On this part of the tour, we see Bayraklı Mosque, Belgrade Fortress, Damat Ali Paşa Mausoleum, the Clock Tower, Sokollu Mehmed Paşa Fountain, the Military Museum, Istanbul Gate, Zindan Gate, Leopoldov Gate, Stefan Lazarevic Monument, Nebojsa Tower, Kale Square, Saborna Church, Republic Square, Terazi Square and Taş Square. We complete our city tour with a walk along Knez Mihajlova Street, considered the centre of the city. You have free time until the meeting time announced by our guide.

After breakfast at the hotel, we set off for the Novisad & Karlofça tour. First, we visit Novisad, the capital of Voyvodina province. Here we see Petrovaradin Fortress, Liberty Square, the Svetozar Miletic Statue, the Catholic Cathedral, the Orthodox Aya Cathedral and Aya Nikola Church. We then continue to the town of Karlofça. The town holds an important place in our history and is known for the Treaty of Karlofça, signed in 1699 between the Ottoman Empire and the states of the Holy League. During the town tour, we see the Town Hall, the Catholic Church, the Four Lions Fountain and the Peace Chapel. At the end of the tour, we transfer to our hotel and spend the night there.

After breakfast at the hotel, we set out on a tour of the Nikola Tesla Museum, Tito’s Tomb and Museum, and Zemun. First, we visit the Nikola Tesla Museum, dedicated to the inventor of alternating current, known for his contributions to science. Established in 1952, the museum displays over 160.000 original documents relating to Nikola Tesla’s life, thousands of books and magazines, numerous photographs, personal belongings, and models of his inventions. We then visit the mausoleum of Tito, the former leader of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, known as the House of Flowers. His tomb is in a sarcophagus at the centre of the single-storey building. Displays here also cover moments from Tito’s life and include his personal belongings. The final stop on our tour is Zemun. Located on the banks of the Danube River, opposite Belgrade Fortress, this town is home to Usce Castle, Gardos Hill and Gardos Tower, among the sights we will see. We spend time in the narrow cobbled streets of this area, which retains traces of Austrian influence. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel and spend the night there.

After breakfast at the hotel, you will have free time. You will then be transferred to the airport at a time set by the guide. After baggage, ticket and passport procedures are completed, you will depart for Istanbul at 15:15 on Türk Hava Yolları flight TK1080. The tour will end upon arrival in Istanbul at 19:05 local time.
