Traces of Belgrade Tour

We meet at the Türk Hava Yolları counter in the International Departures Terminal at Istanbul Airport 3 hours before departure. After completing baggage, ticket and passport procedures, we depart for Belgrade at 07:45 on Türk Havayolları scheduled flight TK1081. We arrive in Belgrade at 08:25 local time and travel to the city centre in our waiting vehicle. We begin our panoramic city tour of Belgrade. During the tour, we see everyday life in the city, its important buildings and the Interior Ministry building, which was bombed by NATO and deliberately left in its damaged state in the middle of the city. We then leave the bus and continue on foot. On this part of the tour, we see Bayraklı Mosque, Belgrade Fortress, Damat Ali Paşa Tomb, the Clock Tower, Sokollu Mehmed Paşa Fountain, the Military Museum, Istanbul Gate, Zindan Gate, Leopoldov Gate, Stefan Lazarevic Monument, Nebojsa Tower, Kale Meydan, Saborna Church, Cumhuriyet Square, Terazi Square and Taş Square. We complete our city tour with a walk along Knez Mihajlova Street, considered the centre of the city. You have free time until the meeting time announced by our guide.

After breakfast at the hotel, we set off for our Novi Sad & Sremski Karlovci tour. Our first stop is Novi Sad, the capital of Vojvodina province. Here we see Petrovaradin Fortress, Freedom Square, the Svetozar Miletic Statue, the Catholic Cathedral, the Orthodox Aya Cathedral and Aya Nikola Church. We then continue to the town of Sremski Karlovci. The town holds an important place in our history and is known for the Treaty of Karlowitz, signed in 1699 between the Ottoman Empire and the Holy League states. During the town tour, we see the Town Hall, the Catholic Church, the Four Lions Fountain and the Chapel of Peace. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel and spend the night there.

After breakfast at the hotel, we set out on a tour of the Nikola Tesla Museum, Tito’s Tomb and Museum, and Zemun. First, we visit the Nikola Tesla Museum, dedicated to the inventor of alternating current, who is known for his contributions to science. Founded in 1952, the museum houses over 160.000 original documents relating to Nikola Tesla’s life, thousands of books and journals, numerous photographs, personal belongings, and models of his inventions. We then visit the mausoleum of Tito, the former leader of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, known as the House of Flowers. His tomb lies in a sarcophagus at the centre of the single-storey building. Displays here also feature moments from Tito’s life and his personal belongings. Our final stop is Zemun, on the banks of the Danube River, opposite Belgrade Fortress. The sights we will see include Usce Fortress, Gardos Hill and Tower. We spend time in the narrow cobbled streets of this area, which bears traces of Austrian influence. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel and spend the night there.

After breakfast at the hotel, you will have free time. You will then be transferred to the airport at the time specified by the guide. After baggage, ticket and passport procedures are completed, you will depart for Istanbul at 09:15 on Turkish Airlines flight TK1082. The tour will end upon arrival in Istanbul at 12:05 local time.
