Traces of Belgrade Tour

We meet at the Türk Hava Yolları counter in the International Departures Terminal at Istanbul Airport 3 hours before departure. After completing baggage, ticket and passport procedures, we depart for Belgrade at 14:40 on Türk Havayolları scheduled flight TK1079. We arrive in Belgrade at 15:25 local time and travel to the city centre in the vehicle waiting for us at the airport. We begin our panoramic city tour of Belgrade. During the tour, we see the city's daily life, its notable buildings and the Ministry of the Interior building, which was deliberately left in its bombed state in the middle of the city after the NATO bombing. We then leave the bus and continue on foot. Our walking route includes Bayraklı Mosque, Belgrade Fortress, Damat Ali Paşa Tomb, the Clock Tower, Sokollu Mehmed Paşa Fountain, the Military Museum, Istanbul Gate, Zindan Gate, Leopoldov Gate, the Stefan Lazarevic Monument, Nebojsa Tower, Kale Meydan, Saborna Church, Republic Square, Terazi Square and Taş Square. We finish our city tour with a walk along Knez Mihajlova Street, considered the centre of the city. Here, you have free time until the meeting time announced by our guide.

After breakfast at the hotel, we set off for the Novi Sad & Sremski Karlovci tour. First, we visit Novi Sad, the capital of Vojvodina province. Here we see Petrovaradin Fortress, Liberty Square, the Svetozar Miletic Statue, the Catholic Cathedral, the Orthodox Aya Cathedral and Aya Nikola Church. After our tour of Novi Sad, we continue to the town of Sremski Karlovci. The town holds an important place in our history and is known for the Treaty of Karlowitz, signed in 1699 between the Ottoman Empire and the states of the Holy League. During our town tour, we see the town hall, the Catholic Church, the Four Lions Fountain and the Chapel of Peace. At the end of the tour, we transfer to our hotel and stay overnight.

After breakfast at the hotel, we set out on a tour of the Nikola Tesla Museum, Tito’s Tomb and Museum, and Zemun. First, we visit the Nikola Tesla Museum, dedicated to the inventor of alternating current, known for his contributions to science. Established in 1952, the museum houses over 160.000 original documents relating to Nikola Tesla’s life, thousands of books and magazines, numerous photographs, personal belongings and models of his inventions. We then visit the mausoleum of Tito, the former leader of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, known as the House of Flowers. His tomb is in a sarcophagus in the centre of the single-storey building. Displays here also feature moments from Tito’s life and his personal belongings. The final stop on the tour is Zemun. Located on the banks of the Danube, opposite Belgrade Fortress, this town is home to Usce Fortress, Gardos Hill and Gardos Tower, among the sights we will see. We spend time in the area’s narrow cobbled streets, which reflect Austrian influences. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel and spend the night there.

After breakfast at the hotel, you will have free time. You will then be transferred to the airport at the time set by your guide. After baggage, ticket and passport procedures are completed, you will depart for Istanbul at 20.25 on Türk Hava Yolları flight TK1084. The tour will end upon arrival in Istanbul at 23:15 local time.
