Scandinavia and Norwegian Fjords Tour

We meet at the Turkish Airlines counter in the international departures terminal at Istanbul Airport 3 hours before the flight. After completing baggage, ticket and passport procedures, we depart for Copenhagen at 07.15 on Turkish Airlines flight TK 1781. Upon arrival at 09.30 local time, we begin our city tour in the vehicle waiting for us at the airport. Copenhagen, whose name means trading port in Danish, is Denmark’s capital and most populous city. It is known for its distinctive architecture, colourful buildings and lively harbour areas. According to research, the people of Denmark are described as the happiest in the world. Sights on the city tour include Nyhan Canal, Christianborg Castle, Glypthoteki Amelienborg Palace and Stroget shopping street. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel. We spend the night at the hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, we join the Castles of Denmark (Kronborg & Frederiksborg) tour. Our first stop is Kronborg Castle in Helsingor, Denmark. One of the country’s well-known historic buildings, the castle was built in the 15th century. Retaining its medieval features to this day, it once served as one of the residences of the Danish royal family. Known as the setting of William Shakespeare’s play Hamlet, the castle has historical and literary significance. Kronborg was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000. Our second stop is Frederiksborg Palace. Located on a lake in Hillerod, Denmark, the palace is an example of Northern Renaissance architecture. Built in the 16th century on the orders of King Christian II, it served as one of the residences of the Danish royal family. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Malmö. Known for its long bridge, parks and historic buildings, Malmö is located in the Skane region in the south of Sweden. It is the third largest city in Sweden and the sixth largest in Scandinavia. On our city tour, we will see Stortorget Square, City Hall, Lilla Torg Square with its cafés and restaurants, and Sankt Petri Church. After the tour, we set off for Gothenburg, Sweden’s 2nd largest city. Located on Sweden’s west coast near the Atlantic Ocean, Gothenburg is Sweden’s second largest city after Stockholm and Scandinavia’s fourth largest city. Built on the Göta River, the city is known for its historic and cultural buildings. It is also Scandinavia’s largest port city. On our tour of Gothenburg, known for its canals, we will see Avenue Boulevard, Gustav Adolf Square, the Poseidon statue, and the opera and theatre buildings. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Oslo, the 4th largest city in Scandinavia and the largest in Norway. Oslo is known for its high standard of living and natural beauty. Founded in 1049 as a port city and previously known as Christiania, the city has been called Oslo since 1925. On arrival, our city tour takes us to the Royal Palace, City Hall, National Theatre, Oslo Cathedral, Karl Johans Street, Opera House, Akershus Fortress and Frogner Park. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel, where we spend the night.

After breakfast at the hotel, we depart early for the Flam Fjord Tour. On arrival, we board the ship for this full-day tour. During the cruise, you can photograph Norway’s fjords from the deck and watch waterfalls flowing down from snow-covered mountains. We then join the Flamsbana Train Journey Tour. We take a nostalgic journey on the Flamsbana train through Norway’s natural scenery. Considered one of the world’s 10 best train journeys, this route is known as the world’s steepest railway line. Throughout the 20 km Flamsbana journey, we see different scenery at every kilometre. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Stockholm. The capital and largest city of Sweden, Stockholm has been the country’s center of culture, art and economy for centuries. Located in Northern Europe, the city attracts tourists with its colorful buildings, historic structures and natural beauty. Our city tour of Stockholm includes sights such as City Hall, Kungstradgarden Central Park, the National Theatre Building, the Stock Exchange Building, the Gamla Stan district, meaning old town, the Royal Palace and Fjallgatan Hill. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel. We spend the night at the hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, we join the Treasures of Sweden (Uppsala & Djurgarden Island and Vasa Ship Museum) tour. Our first stop is Uppsala, Sweden's 4th largest city. One of the country's oldest settlements, the city stands out for its culture and history. During the city tour, we see Uppsala Cathedral, the oldest cathedral in Scandinavia; Uppsala University, the oldest university in Scandinavia, with a history dating back 550 years; and the Fyris River, which divides the city in two. After the Uppsala tour, we head to Djurgarden Island. Located in central Stockholm, the island was the royal family's private property for many years. Djurgarden Island is also the world's first national urban park. After touring the island, we visit the Vasa Ship Museum. The Vasa Museum displays the Vasa warship from the 17th century. Designed as a powerful warship, Vasa sank on its first voyage in 1628. The ship was recovered from the water in 1961 and has survived to the present day. At the museum, we have the opportunity to examine the ship in detail, see its large sails and take photos in front of it. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, you will have free time until the time set by the guide. You will then be transferred to Stockholm Airport. After baggage, ticket and passport procedures are completed, you will depart for Istanbul at 18.35 on Turkish Airlines flight TK 1796. The tour will end upon arrival at 23.15 local time.
