Malta Tour

Meet in front of the Turkish Airlines counter in the international departures terminal of Istanbul Airport 3 hours before the flight. After baggage, ticket and passport procedures, depart for Malta at 08.00 on Turkish Airlines flight TK1369. Following our arrival at 08.30 local time, we will take a city tour of the capital, Valetta, with the vehicle waiting for us at the airport. After touring around the city walls in our vehicle, we will explore the capital's lively streets. Our first stop will be Barrakka Gardens, built on the upper section of the defensive walls surrounding this magnificent city. Built by the Knights of St. John, these gardens overlook the Grand Harbour and the 3 old walled cities. We then continue our tour. St. John Co-Cathedral, the Grand Master's Palace and the Parliament Building are among the sights we will see. After our tour, transfer to our hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, guests who wish may join the optional extra Magnificent Gozo Island Tour. (80 Euro). We travel to Gozo, Malta's second-largest island, early in the morning, departing from Cirkewwa Port in the north of the island. During our approximately half-hour ferry journey, we will also see the country's small islands of Comino and Cominotto. On our tour after arrival, Ta'Pinu Church, Dwejra, the Inland Sea, Fungus Rock and Marsalforn fishing village are among the sights we will see. Finally, we will visit Victoria, the island's capital. After seeing the island's central church, the city walls, the Palace of Justice and the Bishop's Palace, we will have free time in the city before returning to Malta by ferry. After our tour, transfer to our hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, guests who wish may join the optional extra Magnificent Towns and Cities (Mdina & Mosta & Marsaxlokk & Vittoriosa & Senglea & Cospicua) Tour. (80 Euro) Our tour will take us to Malta's central region, dominated by the historic Mdina Castle. During our tour of Mdina, Malta's former capital and a place of historical importance, we will visit the city's walls, which offer the opportunity to see the island of Malta with an almost panoramic 360-degree view. We will then visit the historic town of Mosta in the centre of Malta. The town is famous for its impressive Rotunda Church (Mosta Dome). Featuring an enormous unsupported dome built in Europe, this church is regarded as miraculous because of a bomb that fell inside during World War 2 but did not explode. After our tour, our next stop will be Marsaxlokk, a traditional fishing town. Taking its name from "marsa," the Arabic word for "port," and the "xlokk" wind blowing from the southeast, the town is known for its harbour filled with brightly painted traditional luzzu boats, its way of life intertwined with the sea and its restaurants famous for seafood.

After breakfast at the hotel, guests who wish may join the optional extra Magnificent Popeye Village Tour. (65 Euro). Built as the set for the world-famous 1980 Popeye film, the village has now been transformed into an open-air museum and amusement park. Made up of wooden houses, this charming village offers many activities for both film enthusiasts and families, including interactive performances, playgrounds and boat tours. Afterwards, transfer to the airport at the time specified by the guide. After baggage, ticket and passport procedures, depart for Istanbul at 19.55 on Turkish Airlines flight TK1372. Arrival at 00.20 local time and the end of our tour.
