Barcelona and Architectural Wonders Tour

We meet in front of the SunEpxress Airlines counter at the international departures terminal of İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport 3 hours before the flight. After completing baggage, ticket and passport procedures, we depart for Barcelona at 11.35 on SunExpress Airlines flight XQ 894. We arrive at 13.15 local time and begin our city tour in the vehicle waiting for us at the airport. Barcelona, Spain’s second-largest city and the capital of the Catalonia region, is known worldwide. Located on the Mediterranean coast, the city is known for its history, art, culture and entertainment. Its architecture, streets, cuisine and nightlife attract millions of visitors every year. Antoni Gaudí’s works also play an important role in the city’s architecture. Sights on the city tour include La Sagrada Familia Church, the Cristof Colomb Statue, Montjuic Hill, La Ramblas Street, İspanya and Catalunya Squares, Endülüs Arena and Olimpic Port. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel and have free time. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, guests who wish may join the optional Jewels of Northern Catalonia (Girona & Figueras & Dali Museum) tour at an extra cost. (70 Euro) The first stop is Girona. Located in northeastern Catalonia, approximately 100 kilometres north of Barcelona, Girona is known for its narrow medieval streets, historic buildings, museums, churches and city walls. Sights on the city tour include the Lion statue, Cathedral Square and the Jewish Quarter (El Call). After visiting Girona, we depart for Figueras. Located northeast of Girona, Figueres is the birthplace of Spanish painter Salvador Dali and is closely associated with his life and work. The city's main attraction is the Salvador Dali Museum. Dali established this museum to leave something to his birthplace and display his works. Today, the museum houses the largest Dali collection and is described as his greatest work because he designed it in its entirety. The museum contains more than 4000 works created by the artist using various techniques. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel. In the evening, guests who wish may join the optional Flamenco Fire tour at an extra cost.

After breakfast at the hotel, guests who wish may join the optional Gaudi’s Work: Park Guell & Gothic Quarter tour at an extra charge (60 Euro). The first stop is Park Guell, one of Antoni Gaudi’s works. Listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site and also known as a fairy-tale park, it is known for its colourful stairways and imaginatively shaped pavilions. After visiting Park Guell, we continue to the Gothic Quarter. Here we see narrow, maze-like streets dating from the Middle Ages, Gothic churches, squares and Roman walls. The district’s main landmarks and places to visit include Barcelona Cathedral, Plaça Reial (Royal Square), Plaça del Rei (King’s Square) and La Rambla. After the tour, guests who wish may join the optional Sitges Tour at an extra charge (40 Euro). Located southwest of Barcelona on the Mediterranean coast, Sitges is a seaside town known for its sea and beaches, as well as its arts and cultural events. The town has art galleries and museums and hosts various festivals. We begin our visit at the steps of San Bartolome-Santa Tecla Cathedral, then continue into the historic streets.

After breakfast at the hotel, we transfer to the airport at the time specified by the guide. After completing baggage, ticket and passport formalities, we depart for Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport at 14.15 on SunExpress flight XQ 895. Our tour ends upon arrival at 19.25 local time.
