Barcelona and Architectural Wonders Tour

We meet in front of the AJet Airlines counter at the international departures terminal of Esenboğa Airport 3 hours before the flight. After completing baggage, ticket and passport procedures, we depart for Barcelona at 11:35 on AJet Airlines flight VF607. Upon arrival at 13.30 local time, we begin a panoramic city tour in the vehicle waiting for us at the airport. Barcelona, Spain’s second-largest city and the capital of the Catalonia region, is known worldwide. This Mediterranean coastal city brings together history, art, culture and entertainment. Its architecture, streets, cuisine and nightlife attract millions of visitors every year. The works of Antoni Gaudí also play an important role in the city’s architecture. During the city tour, we will see La Sagrada Familia Church, the Cristof Colomb Statue, Montjuic Hill, La Ramblas Street, Spain and Catalunya Squares, the Andalusia Arena and Olimpic Port. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel and have free time. We spend the night at the hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, guests who wish may join the optional Pearls of Northern Catalonia (Girona & Figueras & Dali Museum) tour at an extra cost. (70 Euro) The first stop is Girona. Located in northeastern Catalonia, approximately 100 kilometres north of Barcelona, Girona is known for its narrow medieval streets, historic buildings, museums, churches and city walls. Sights on the city tour include the Lion Statue, Cathedral Square and the Jewish Quarter (El Call). After visiting Girona, we depart for Figueras. Figueres, northeast of Girona, is the birthplace of Salvador Dali. The city's identity is closely linked to the life and work of the Spanish painter Salvador Dali. The main tourist attraction in Figueres is the Salvador Dali Museum. Dali founded this museum to leave something to his birthplace and display his works. Today, the museum houses the largest Dali collection and is described as his greatest work, as the artist designed every section himself. The museum contains more than 4000 works created by the artist using various techniques. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, guests who wish may join the optional Gaudi’s Work: Park Guell & Gothic Quarter tour, available at an extra charge (60 Euro). The first stop will be Park Guell, one of Antoni Gaudi’s works. The park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site often described as a fairy-tale park, features colourful stairways and pavilions. After visiting the park, the tour will continue to the Gothic Quarter. Here, visitors can see narrow, winding streets dating from the Middle Ages, Gothic churches, squares and Roman walls. The quarter’s main buildings and public spaces include Barcelona Cathedral, Plaça Reial (Royal Square), Plaça del Rei (King’s Square) and La Rambla. After the tour, guests who wish may join the optional Sitges Tour, available at an extra charge (40 Euro). Located southwest of Barcelona on the Mediterranean coast, Sitges is a seaside town known for its sea and beaches, as well as its arts and cultural events. The town has art galleries and museums and hosts various festivals. The visit will begin at the steps of San Bartolome-Santa Tecla Cathedral. Dating from the 17th century, the cathedral was built on the remains of earlier Romanesque and Gothic churches.

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport at the time specified by the guide. After baggage, ticket and passport formalities are completed, depart for Esenboğa Airport at 14.20 on AJet Airlines flight VF608. The tour ends upon arrival at 20:20 local time.
