The Douglas is not for the business traveller. Only reason the hotel gets 3 is because of the staff and location. If you are staying for business, this is not your hotel. Lower floor rooms facing BC place are above the Casino Lounge/Patio and you hear everything - even though that staff tried to assist. For a 6:30 am checkout, if you need to go to the front desk you have to walk to the JW side. Bathroom lacks a hand shower and sufficient towel racks, and the thermostat works but is frustratingly locked. No Fridge in the room and that desk chair is awful and hard to get comfortably to work. I can be nit picky when you pay these prices. The positives. The staff are excellent. I am sure I missed a few but Ricky & Andres were very helpful and responsive. The room as quirky as it is is comfortable except there is no place to really unwind, There is no couch but a nice window bench
The staffs from the front desk to housekeeping are all exceptional! The room is always impeccably cleaned daily which made my 6 nights stay extremely comfortable. The front desk staffs are always welcoming with a great smile and open to answer any questions I had. Definitely a great hotel to stay at!
Open review on GoogleGreat hotel, good location at the south end of downtown and steps away from False Creek. Staff were great, room was clean and very functional. My only gripe is the lack of pool for a 5 star hotel. They had a small hot tub, lots of outdoor rooftop space, but no pool which my kids would have appreciated.
