I loved my stay at Novotel Nara. We had just come from a Fairfield by Marriot in Osaka and tbh had a pretty crap experience. It was like a breath of fresh air arriving at Novotel. The lady behind the reception was lovely and spoke English, as members we could check in at 1pm which made life so much easier. The facilities were great, loved that they had massage chairs and a kids room. This hotel seemed really kid friendly (I was travelling without mine) to the point I plan to stay there next year with my kids in tow. Beds were very comfy, room was super modern with connect to app available (I just used my HDMI to tv) a little bit of road traffic at night but this could be easily rectified by requesting a room on the other side. The only thing I didn’t love was the pricing of the bar food on rooftop, I ordered a meat charcuterie board and it was literally 3 pieces of meat, no cheese and no crackers for 2500Y. (See photo).

The good thing is that you can use the bus service opposite at JW Marriott. Nothing much to complain. will recommend if the price is right for you.
What a great value hotel, will definitely stay again on our next Nara visit. The executive lounge was unexpectedly great after being let down by it on other Accor hotels in Japan. It was nice to wind down on the roof terrace looking at the sunset and having a cold one.
