NH Siena

I’m downgrading our visit by one star because my partner found it very hard to get service. We hoped that we’d be able to eat here on the night we arrived, but this wasn’t an option. We enquired about room service and couldn’t get any. Beyond our first night gripes, the room was lively and we had a great view of the stadium and watched some football being played. The hotel was quite noisy at times, but nice and well located. As I said at the start, there were some issues for my partner getting service, both at the bar and assistance at reception. I had quite the reverse experience, they almost fell over themselves to get to me. Now you could say as an outsider maybe it was my partner, but she couldn’t have been nicer, I watched the difference in service with my own eyes. To this day, I don’t know what the issue was. Oh… the lifts were weird too, we could not summon a lift to level 2 unless the lift was the next floor up. All very strange.

Pros: First and foremost, the location is great, staff (reception and house keeping)were consistently attentive and professional. Their service made a very positive impression. Clean rooms. Cons: 1. The hot water pressure in the shower was too low to wash my long hair.. 2. A screw from the shower drainage fixture appeared to have come loose and partially popped out, it hurt my toe and raised some concerns regarding safety and maintenance. 3.The curtain in the room had many holes. 4. The expected amenities were not provided, unlike in other hotels of a similar standard. Only got a shower cap. 5.All the lights turned on simultaneously, and no control switch on both lamps. Only way to control was by unplugging ,making it difficult to adjust the lighting comfortably. Lighting similar to IBIS hotel category. 6. Bed was too hard for me, even being from Asia, but this is personal. 7. The tissue holder in the bathroom was not securely fixed and repeatedly fell off during use. The issues encountered were not in line with the standards I would normally expect from a NH hotel.
