InterContinental Table Bay Cape Town

Without a doubt the best hotel experience I’ve had in Cape Town From the moment I booked, everything was seamless. The airport transfer was perfectly organised, check in was effortless and every single staff member was warm, professional and so welcoming. The rooms are beautiful, the views are spectacular and the attention to detail was exceptional. As Muslim guests, we especially appreciated the bidet spray in the bathroom and the care taken with our halal requirements The birthday surprises in our room, the turndown service, the treats and non-alcoholic refreshments made our stay feel incredibly special. Breakfast was outstanding, with a special thank you to Christopher, who went above and beyond to make us feel at home I’ve stayed here before and the revamp has taken it to another level. Honestly, I’ve stayed in many hotels locally and overseas, and this ranks among the very best. I wouldn’t even consider staying anywhere else in Cape Town Absolutely exceptional

My husband and I stayed at IHC Table Bay Cape Town for 4 nights at the end of April 2026, along with my brothers and their partners in two additional rooms. From when we arrived at the car park and were greeted by Thalio, to the warm reception we received from Miranda and Samantha at the check-in, and to all those who helped us at breakfast (Pamela, Zimkitha and others), and Jade who served us in the bar, and Celes who secured our last minute request for a large table at Bistro de Jan, we were VERY well taken care of here. The hotel has just undergone an extensive remodel, and the finishes and decor are exquisite. We had a room on the 4th floor with a full view of Table Mountain. Room had plenty of USB A/C charging ports as well as outlets thoughtfully placed throughout. Bed was very comfortable, and there was no exterior or neighbor noise we could hear in the room. The breakfast buffet was 5 star with lots and lots of options and attentive service. We had an issue one night, and spoke to the hotel manager about it the next morning, and it was immediately addressed and resolved. Kudos to Melissa Hugo and her team for their five star service level.

This is an interesting one and probably not a fair rating based on the circumstances. I got married in the yellow table bay hotel in 2000. Back then it was top of the pops! The 2026 version is clean and crisp new decor and finishes. The rooms have had a make over and the hotel I magnificent. Thing is - it’s only been open for a month so that means teething problems. Something’s of which I don’t the s full paying gusts should have to endure. To start - our shower flooded first night. Then the water didn’t get hot and when it was seen to the shower went boiling then tepid one moment to the next. Very frustrating. The most irritating thing was that in the first 2 days in the hotel the fire evacuation alarm went off 4 times. We coukd not understand the instructions coming from the speaker and twice it was in the dead of night. Just not good enough. In room dining was great and always service with a smile. The annoying knocking next door was 7 days a week and started at 7am. Again minors the full price. The hotel lobby has been transformed magnificently but the service there is a tad slow. Always smiley and super helpful by slow. Amazingly we didn’t get to Jan’s restaurant- big regret but ran out of time. I think the place has massive potential and the staff are all beautifully presented and so helpful from housekeeping to in room dining and laundry service. BUT I don’t think its fair or wise to charge guests the full rate until all issues are ironed out. Big Marriott coming next door with super yacht harbour. Lots happening here. Glad we stated - can only get better.
