Boulders Beach African penguin colony encounter

At Boulders Beach near Cape Town, African penguins walk, rest and swim between large granite boulders. Wooden walkways let you watch them closely without disturbing them. Birds slipping through the small coves of the beach make a scene children will remember.

The walkway is short and flat. Do not touch or approach the penguins, as they can bite. Wind can feel cool, so bring a light jacket. When the beach is crowded, arriving early in the morning gives a calmer view.
