Aloft Strasbourg Etoile

We had a wonderful one-night stay at Aloft Strasbourg and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Strasbourg or just passing through. The location is fantastic—just a few minutes’ drive from the historic city center and very close to the boat tour departure point, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing. The hotel itself is modern, spotless, and surprisingly spacious. We were traveling as a family of five across two generations and booked two connecting rooms, which worked perfectly for us. The highlight was definitely the view from our rooms on the 7th floor—we could clearly see the beautiful cathedral spire, which made our stay even more special. The service was excellent throughout our stay, especially the reception team on the ground floor. Everyone was genuinely warm, welcoming, and happy to help. We also loved the large lounge and recreation area downstairs, where our family enjoyed spending time together playing table tennis and relaxing. There’s a very big shopping centre crossing the street. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Clean rooms, a great location, amazing views, excellent service, and fun shared spaces—it really exceeded our expectations. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Aloft Strasbourg to anyone visiting Strasbourg!

We enjoyed our stay at Aloft but we think it’s important to point some things out. We really loved the great location, how close the hotel is to the nearest metro, the cleanliness of the room and the modern interior as well as the comfort of the bed and all the members of staff. Everyone was really friendly and helpful but we want to especially thank Mamadou at the breakfast service who took the extra mile in providing eggs for us when the hotel ran out of them and who was really kind and cheerful. However there was one occasion during the breakfast when my girlfriend asked a member of staff for a small spoon to eat here egg. Instead of being shown where spoons are or being handed a fresh one the member of staff told her to just take one from the spring onion bowls at the buffet. She offered to clean it with tab water but this seemed really off and unpleasant to us and in the end we organized a fresh and clean spoon from the bar. The breakfast itself is good and provides everything you need for a good start into the day. What we didn’t like was that in no room of the hotel the windows can be opened. That is something we really missed during our stay because although the AC was functioning well it just cannot replace fresh air. Furthermore the bathroom only offers limited privacy due to how it is designed and the toilet door is quit thin and does not block noises. Other than that it is a perfect place for a visit to Strassbourg. The lobby is welcoming and offers a lot of seating options. We didn’t use the bar but it looked nice too and on one night they even had a DJ there.

We had an extremely disappointing experience at this hotel. There was a loud party with heavy bass music taking place on the ground floor until 4 AM. The noise was so strong that it was clearly audible even on the 5th and 6th floors. We were traveling with a baby and elderly parents, and none of us could sleep. We complained to the reception during the night. The staff was polite and promised to lower the volume, but unfortunately the noise level barely changed afterwards. For a Marriott-branded hotel, this is completely unacceptable. A hotel should provide guests with the ability to rest and sleep — especially families with children. Allowing a party to continue until 4 AM with bass vibrating through multiple floors shows a serious lack of consideration for guests. The location and rooms themselves are fine, but the overall experience was ruined by the noise and the hotel’s failure to properly resolve the situation.
