Cruise to the Ucamara confluence at the birthplace of the Amazon River

Near Nauta, the Ucayali and Marañón rivers meet, and from this point the river is known as the Amazon. From the bow of the boat you can see the difference in colour and current between the two waters, with rainforest rising on both banks. It is a wide, calm scene that gives a real sense of the river's scale.

The boat ride takes little effort, so families with young children, older guests and most others will manage. Bring sun cream, a hat and a light rain jacket. Morning or late afternoon light is gentle on the water.
