About this experience
A cable car near Kathmandu lifts you over the valley to 2,500 metres on Chandragiri Hill. As you rise the forest shrinks and, in clear weather, the Himalayan ranges appear on the horizon. A short walk at the summit leads to viewpoints and a small temple.
It is cool and windy at the top, so bring a coat. Mountain views are best when the sky is clear, and early morning has less cloud. Move slowly because of the altitude. The ride runs in autumn, spring and winter, and is easy with small children.
