Elephant-back jungle safari in Chitwan National Park
Kathmandu · Nepal
About this experience
An elephant-back safari in Chitwan National Park moves between tall grass and the forest edge in search of rhinos and other wildlife. Looking from a height makes it easier to spot movement in the undergrowth. The morning mist and green surroundings set the mood of the safari.
The elephant's sway and a long seat can tire you. Stay quiet, do not shout at animals and follow the guide's instructions. Insect repellent, a hat and earth-toned clothing help. Seeing wildlife is not guaranteed, and early morning is the most productive time.
