Thon Hotel Nordlys

I commend the reception for the friendly service. They're always ready with a smile. The dining staff is abit in the other world. The first day they all looked sad and not a smile at all. I tried to get an eye contact to smile but it looked like they had a bad day in the kitchen. The dining was half empty, so it didn't look like a busy morning. Breakfast was nothing fancy. Bread were pre-sliced and wrapped in plastics. I miss the fresh good bread. Next day I decided not to have the breakfast buffet, so I asked for a take away box. It was such a big deal for them. They said I cannot take away if I already ate. It was not a big dining so they must notice I just arrived there when I asked. Then the kitchen crew explained this and that. I'm totally aware because I stayed in Thon hotels the last 3 years. So I was just gonna walk out without breakfast but the girl came with the box. I just filled it with salad and bacon and had orange juice to go. It felt so uncomfortable I had to explain to each of them that I haven't eaten, I just arrived the dining area. If i knew they were abit difficult, i would have just dined in. I love the room assigned to us. The view is awesome. But my husband noticed all the dust on top of the cabinets and under the table. It was so thick that it might not have been cleaned thoroughly for many months. They should do thorough dusting every month at least. The kitchen crew was more service oriented this morning. Overall, it was an ok experience. Great location.
