Our stay at Shangri-La Boracay was more than just a vacation—it was a beautiful celebration of family and life’s precious milestones. Surrounded by breathtaking views, crystal-clear waters, and the warmth of the resort’s incredible team, we were able to slow down, reconnect, and create memories that we will cherish forever. Every detail of our stay made us feel welcomed, cared for, and truly special. Whether it was watching the sunset together, enjoying quality family time by the beach, or simply appreciating the peaceful atmosphere, every moment reminded us how important it is to celebrate the blessings we have and the people we love most. The ShangriLa Boracay is my absolute favorite “me time” getaway. It’s so easy to get to from Manila and when you get there the experience is fantastic! Really allows you to disconnect and relax. The service is excellent starting from when you get into their private van from the airport to the private speedboat ride (fun ride with an enjoyable view), the welcome on their pier, and the checkin process is painless. I also do find it nice that they leave handwritten cards in your room upon checkin welcoming you back to the resort. Nice touch. Once you’re there it’s perfection for downtime. The staff are present but never obtrusive. The pool is beautiful and never crowded, the beach is quiet and private though small, the rooms are so comfortable, Rima restaurant never disappoints, and the Spa experience is so great it becomes an everyday must do. If you’re looking for rest, peace, quiet, excellent facilities, and impeccable service the Shang is perfect!

We stayed at Shangri-La Boracay for five nights to celebrate anniversary. The resort is beautiful, and the Tree House Villa was an exceptional setting for a special occasion. However, despite the impressive property and surroundings, several recurring issues prevented the stay from feeling like the five-star experience we expected. The Tree House Villa itself was gorgeous, beautifully designed, well-appointed, and surrounded by spectacular views. The peaceful and secluded setting was exactly what we hoped for when choosing Shangri-La for our anniversary. Unfortunately, the most significant issue was an apparent animal problem in the ceiling above our bedroom. We heard loud noises every night, including what sounded like an animal running overhead. The following day, we discovered that snacks inside the villa had been torn open and eaten. We immediately contacted our butler and were told that rat traps were being installed. Despite this, the noises continued every night for the remainder of our five-night stay. This was not simply an occasional nuisance. The persistent noises were loud and unsettling, particularly at night, and made it difficult to sleep comfortably. For a private luxury villa, this was a serious concern and, in our view, something that should have been addressed much more proactively. We also found the frequency of staff visits and maintenance somewhat excessive for a private villa. Housekeeping, deliveries, and other staff came by repeatedly throughout the day, with the doorbell ringing frequently. We certainly appreciate attentive service, but the number of interruptions ultimately detracted from the privacy and tranquility that should be one of the main advantages of staying in a secluded villa. The private outdoor hot tub was another disappointment. It was not functioning properly, and we had to contact Engineering whenever we wanted to fill or drain it. At this price point, we expected the villa’s amenities to be fully operational and readily usable without repeatedly requiring staff assistance. To be fair, there were many things we loved about the resort. The property is stunning, the villa is beautiful, the views are exceptional, and the overall setting is genuinely special. We were grateful to be able to celebrate our anniversary in such a beautiful environment. However, luxury is ultimately about more than the appearance of the property. It is also about reliability, attention to detail, effective communication, privacy, and the ability to enjoy the room without unexpected disruptions. Unfortunately, the ongoing animal noises, repeated maintenance and staff visits, inconsistent communication, and malfunctioning hot tub collectively prevented the stay from feeling as seamless as we expected. Shangri-La Boracay has an extraordinary property, but based on our experience, the operational details did not consistently match the five-star image and price point. We hope these issues are addressed, because with better attention to maintenance and service consistency, this could truly be an exceptional luxury experience.
