Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Suwon

A 5-star experience at a 4-star hotel! (3rd stay) This is my third stay here. Even among 4-star hotels, this one truly feels on par with a 5-star. The facilities are spotless, and the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. When I mentioned the room was a bit warm, they explained the AC wasn't turned on for the season yet, but they promptly brought a fan up to my room. The view was also fantastic. I've received a room upgrade every time I’ve visited—thank you so much! During a previous stay, I booked rooms for my extended family, and everyone from the adults to the kids absolutely loved it. The breakfast is excellent as well. While I might not pay the full regular price for it, I highly recommend getting breakfast if it's included in your room package. I will definitely be staying here again!

Went for a 3 day business trip in June with a day of working just in the room. My room was mostly comfortable and a nice size with Ethernet plug in. Hotel is in walking distance to the historical fortress (caution, it is uphill, but very worth it). I bought the breakfast also at check in and it’s a large buffet style with many options, pretty good but pricey if you’re paying out of your own pocket. My biggest complaint by far is they have a centralized and controlled climate system. My first night I woke up several times sweating, my room stayed 74-75F even thought I set the thermostat lower. The only relief the hotel offered was a pedestal fan, so be warned.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but the service at Ramada Hotel Suwon was disappointing from start to finish. The hotel itself is decent, but unfortunately the staff completely overshadowed any positives. The receptionists are polite on the surface, but very little actually gets done. Throughout my stay, I had to contact the front desk multiple times because requests and promises were simply not followed through. For a three-night stay, the housekeeping was unacceptable. The bed sheets were never changed, and I only received one fresh towel during the entire stay. That is well below the standard I expect from any hotel. The biggest frustration was the lack of accountability. At around 5:00 a.m., I called the front desk to raise these concerns. I was told someone would call me back, but no one ever did. I was then told that a manager would contact me by email after reviewing the situation. Once again, nothing happened. No phone call, no email, no follow-up—just another empty promise. This was not a one-time mistake. It was a consistent pattern throughout my stay: the staff acknowledged problems, assured me they would resolve them, and then failed to take any action. I've stayed at many hotels across brands such as Marriott and Hilton, and this was easily one of the poorest service experiences I've had. The building itself is perfectly fine, but good facilities cannot make up for unreliable customer service and a lack of professionalism. Unless you are staying here solely because of the price or there are no other options available, I would strongly recommend choosing another hotel. Good hospitality is about keeping your word, following through, and making guests feel valued. Unfortunately, that was missing throughout my stay, and I will not be returning.
