Leonardo Hotel Heidelberg City Center

The rooms are old and didn’t feel properly cleaned. There was a bad smell in our first room, so we asked to change it, but unfortunately the second room smelled as well. The sink was also cracked. The elevator was extremely slow. The receptionist was friendly, but there was no one at the reception when we arrived. We also had to wait about 10–15 minutes in the parking lot, ringing the bell several times before someone opened the door. Definitely not worth the money and nowhere near what you’d expect from a 4-star hotel. The only real highlights are location and quite comfy beds.

May the breakfast be rather expensive, it was very good. The room was good for our three nights stay. The location is excellent, being on walking distance of the Altstadt and main shopping areas. We also did a Komoot hike along side and above the banks of the Neckar (the Philosophenweg) with wonderful views on Heidelberg. The starting point of this hike is also on walking distance of the hotel. Two minor points in our room (509). The holder of the showerhead was broken, so, there it couldn't be adjusted to respective lengths. There was an airconditioning device in our room but it didn't cool the hot and humid room much. When these points had been in order the room would have been perfect.

Complete shit hotel. Hotel parking is ridiculess, equipment for the garage is on it’s last legs and the second sub level of the parking is closed off. This supposed to be a 4-star hotel. I know theater rating is based on the hotel ammenties but this is a 2 star at best. The “family room” is just a regular room with a roll away bed. The airconditioning doesn’t work and the fan is loud. We specificly booked this the have cool room to sleep in. The batroom sink has cracks. There is no ventilation. Water runs out of the shower tray and the shower is only 30 inches (70cm) wide. But it is near the city center about a 15 minute walk. I fear for breakfast. We’ll see in the morning…..
