JR Hotels Bari Grande Albergo delle Nazioni

We are Australians currently on a 10-week journey exploring Italy. After spending 6 incredible weeks winding through the Puglia region, we made a last-minute decision to add a 5-day stop in Bari. Choosing to stay at the JR Hotels Grande Albergo delle Nazioni was the absolute best decision we could have made.We stayed for 5 days and truly cannot fault this hotel. The service across the board is completely impeccable.The breakfast each morning was fantastic, featuring a wonderful spread of high-quality options. They even graciously accommodated our special request for poached eggs every day without hesitation.A special mention must go to Magdalena (I hope my spelling is correct!) who truly went above and beyond for us. She made sure everything was absolutely perfecto each and every morning. Her warmth and attention to detail made our stay unforgettable.If you are visiting Bari, do not hesitate to book this waterfront gem!

I love the experience in this hotel as it’s gorgeous. Great location, beautiful rooms, beautiful atmosphere..Great options for breakfast. Good food at the restaurant with amazing view of the waterfront and port. My only disappointment and he was a great disappointment is that the pool is on the rooftop but you cannot reach her with the elevator. You have to have stairs and for people with mobility issues that’s a problem. Also, the pool deck had absolutely no shade meaning no umbrellas or anything making it very hard to stay there and spend a few hours. The pool itself did not have an adequate way to get in and out of it as it only had one vertical step ladder, which again is not feasible for everyone. A hotel of this caliber should’ve done better. We both the pool deck and their pool.

Overall the hotel was very clean as was our room which also had plenty space. In the room, while the toilet was a seperate room, the shower was in the actual bedroom area and while screened on one side was open to the other. This was okay for my wife and I, but if your are sharing with other family or friends, its worth bearing in mind vefore booking. Also in the room while there were glasses, and plastic tumblers at the sink, there were only paper cups if you wanted tea or coffee, which for us was a very small selection of tea bags, sachets of instant coffee and a couple of small plastic pots of milk. I would've thought being in Italy there would have been a nice coffee machine in the rooms but apparently not. Breakfast was good though with plenty of choices. One day we did visit the bar, and while there was hardly any customers there, service was slow and the cocktails werent to our taste. The location is good only a few minutes stroll to the new town for shopping, or 15 minutes to the old town. And if its a nice day there is a good roof top terrace with sun loungers and a small pool. This property certainly isnt 5 star but is definately worth a stay.
