ibis Fes Hotel

Reviewing this hotel is a bit challenging. As it is an Ibis property, my expectations were relatively low. The room was indeed very compact—even by Ibis standards—and this was especially true for the bathroom. However, it featured a lovely balcony overlooking the internal garden, which was a welcome and unexpected bonus. Unfortunately, breakfast was a major disappointment. The selection was incredibly limited, and the food itself was stale, which I confirmed after trying the same options two mornings in a row. The location has its pros and cons. It is exceptionally close to the railway station, making it highly convenient if you are traveling by train. On the downside, you may hear train horns in the middle of the night (around 2:00 or 3:00 AM), likely warning people who cross the tracks on foot. Additionally, you will definitely need a taxi if you want to visit the Medina. Up to this point, my experience would have warranted a higher rating, but the cleanliness issues changed that. While I am not overly sensitive to finding a stray hair in the linens or dealing with a slow-draining sink (I experienced both cases during my stay), the final night was unacceptable. On my way back to the room, I found a dying cockroach upside down on the floor. I always aim to provide fair, objective reviews, which is why I have highlighted both the positives and negatives. This pest issue might have been an isolated incident, but I feel it is important to warn future travelers. I am attaching photos for reference, and I apologize if they are unpleasant to view. Choose wisely.

My stay at Ibis was overall pleasant, and the staff were polite and helpful whenever issues were reported. However, the cleanliness standards unfortunately did not meet expectations. During my stay, I found cockroaches, ants, and flies in the room. Although the hotel staff responded by changing my room after I complained, I sadly experienced the same issue again in the new room. I appreciate the effort made by the team to resolve the problem, but I believe the hotel should improve its hygiene and pest control standards to provide a more comfortable experience for guests.
