Hotel Sunshine Kinugawa

It was everything we expected and more. The staff were so welcoming and helpful, nothing was too much. We stayed in a premium room with a private bath on the balcony which was divine. Our room came with half board in our own private dining space. The food was superb and the staff so lovely. I would not hesitate to return, we had a wonderful experience.

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon and the hotel and it's staff were fantastic. Our room was a traditional Japanese style on the 12th floor and the views over the river and the suspension bridge were beautiful. Falling asleep to the sound of the river each night was very serene. The private onsens were excellent (additional charge but highly recommended) and very relaxing. The staff were amazing, they were incredibly polite, very helpful (including arranging to send our luggage on to our next hotel) and even gave us an incredibly thoughtful honeymoon gift when we left which we will treasure. Thank you to all the staff for making our visit to the Nikko area so special. We would love to return one day

Our room is in a traditional Japanese style. While you’re having dinner, the staff will come in and prepare the futon for you. Amenities like shampoo and conditioner are not provided in the room, so you’ll need to pick them up from the lobby on the ground floor. Yukata are available to borrow, and there’s also drinking water, both hot and cold, as well as a microwave provided on the ground floor. The hotel also offers a private onsen, which can be booked for 45 minutes per session. It costs around 2,800 yen per session, not per person. What I really liked was the breakfast and dinner buffet. The food suited my taste and there was a good variety to choose from. The only downside is that the hotel is a bit far from the train station, but there is a shuttle service from the hotel to the station in the morning, running about four times a day.
