Hotel Palau de Bellavista by URH

The hotel sits up a hill overlooking the downtown area. There is ample parking. The three floors i saw have a very open and airy feel with linear and simple decor. The entire layout is easy to navigate. The staff is very friendly and mostly fluent in English. The room is comfortable and well maintained if a bit simple. Breakfast buffet was ample and provided all of the classics to choose from, both European and western with some Catalonian touches. The patio is a very nice touch straight out the glass paneled lobby wall. It’s a great place to sit and take in the ‘skyline’ of Girona in the late afternoon or early morning (it’s completely exposed so the midday sun could be a bit intense).

Visited in mid-Jan 2026. Chose this hotel for its location to access some mountain bike trails and castles to the east, whilst also being able to cycle inner Girona. It is great if you have a bike, you can see a lot in a couple of days. Happy with the room (although unfortunately no kettle), parking, general cleaniness, dinner and service from staff. Could be cheaper.

Although the rooms are very tired and are in desperate need of an update our overall stay was positive. Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned daily to a good standard. The lounge and terrace are great places to relax (The snack and drink prices are very reasonable). We tried the restaurant several times, the food offering is great. We enjoyed the location which includes free parking. A short walk away (although a steep hill) from the town centre and easy access with the car to the surrounding area. Ideal to explore Girona and Costa Brava.
