Comfort Hotel Runway

A nok80 bus shuttle from Gardemoen airport arrivals floor (at this time stops 39 & 40 outside the building, leaving every half hour) brings you here in very few minutes. The hotel is cute, modern, colorful, functional, has immense lounge areas on the ground floor, also where pre-served meals and a complimentary buffet breakfast are served. The rooms have a good size, with narrow double insulated horizontal windows, in order to efficiently cut the noise of planes landing 500yds away (it's not a busy airport anyway). Bathrooms are scandinavian style - shower not separated, it doesn't lack pressure but the jets are superthin, almost feels like a steambath. Extensive seminar areas; free parking in front of the building. All at all, I see no reason for any of the complaints I have read below.

I have frequent overnight layovers in Oslo and have tried most of the airport hotels. This is by far the best value for the money. In fact, it's probably the best value hotel in the country. I've arrived several times in the morning after a red-eye flight, and the front desk put me right in a room with no extra cost, which is extremely nice when you've been sitting up straight for 8 hours. The breakfast is great, available as early as 4 am, and there's a nice sauna with a view of the runway. Also appreciate the option to order dinner at the restaurant, though there could be more options. The only thing I miss is the nice photo books they used to have in each room. Take the 420 bus instead of the shuttle unless you need to use the luggage racks.
