Best Western Hotel La Solara

Great stay with a wonderful view! Hotel La Solara is located about 10 minutes away from Sorrento center, but they have a complimentary shuttle service that runs perfectly every hour until 23:00, which completely solves the distance issue. The reception team and the entire staff are amazing; they truly make you feel like you are part of a family. The main pool and the kids' pool are more than adequate. Breakfast was also very satisfying. Overall, we were very happy as a family. The rooms are a bit dated, but it doesn't really affect your stay. The only real issue was the shower cabin—it is extremely narrow and hard to fit into. It made washing our child a bit difficult. On the plus side, you can easily request a baby cot for the room. In summary: while it’s a bit outside the center, you get to stay in a peaceful location away from the crowds with a magnificent view. Highly recommended!

The location is outside the centre but a free shuttle bus is provided hourly which was great. We met people from other hotels who struggled to get to and from their hotels with minimal shuttle services. There is also a bus outside to travel further. The half board food was plentiful with table service and some buffet style additions, including bread, salad, and daily hot dishes but don't expect hot veggies - they are in a dish which is not kept warm. We weren't fussed as we were stuffed from the menu items. The breakfast was fine too. Lots to choose from. I've added a few sample menus from our week. The only meal I'd happily miss was the gala on the Sunday - there isn't a choice (set menu) but my son was able to ask for pasta with plain sauce. The side dishes were still available though so we filled up on those. The swimming pool was warm - like a bath so fine even in cooler or wet weather. Pool towels provided. No jumping or diving in. Views are absolutely stunning across the bay. Steep walk up to the hotel from the road. Nearby beach is beautiful but not for the faint hearted - really steep walk (some cars wheel spinning). Paulo beach - photo. Room for 4 was adapted by adding a bunk bed. I was a bit worried my son might roll off or was too heavy, but it all worked out in the end. Air conditioning if needed. The first half of our holiday was very quiet but when more people arrived it did get noisier - the walls weren't thick but that was a guest issue, not the hotel. We opted for sea view balcony - well worth it - table with 2 chairs and 2 deckchairs. There is a gym but we didn't look in there. Daily maid service. Tea and coffee with kettle in the room. Mini fridge with purchasable drinks. Staff very friendly across all services. The lounge area had a great view across the bay and entertainment (a singer with a keyboard) several nights. Tourist tax added to bill from 1st April to end of October. We went with Tui and the rep was often available and they had tours, the hotel also can arrange tours as well. There were several people who had stayed before and we highly recommend Hotel La Solara.
