This journey follows the Silk Road through Uzbekistan's historic cities of Khiva, Bukhara, Samarkand and Tashkent. In Khiva we walk through Ichan Kale and its madrasahs, in Bukhara we see the Poyi Kalon Complex and Kalan Minaret, in Samarkand we visit Registon Square and Guri Emir, and in Tashkent we explore Barak Han Madrasah and the city bazaar. We travel overland between each stop.

The route of the journey

01Istanbul - Urgench - KhivaWe visit Ichan Kale, Kunya-Ark and Cuma Mosque.
Arriving in Khiva
We meet at the Türk Hava Yolları counter in the International Departures Terminal at Istanbul Airport 3 hours before the flight. You must be at the airport on the evening 1 day before the departure date stated in the tour itinerary. After completing baggage, ticket and passport procedures, we depart for Urgench at 01.05 on Türk Havayolları flight TK262. We arrive in Urgench at 06.50 local time and transfer to Khiva in the vehicle waiting for us at the airport.
Upon arrival in Khiva, we begin our city tour. The tour covers the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ichan Kale, Kunya-Ark Old Fortress, Cuma Mosque, İslam Hoca Madrasa and Minaret, Allah kulu Han Madrasa, Muhammed Emin Han, Muhammed Rahim Han Madrasa, Şirgazi Han Madrasa, Pehlivan Dervaze Gate and Taşkale Caravanserai. After the tour, we have free time for shopping in Khiva's bazaars. We have dinner and stay overnight at our hotel in Khiva.
02Khiva - BukharaWe travel to Bukhara for free time and dinner among its landmarks.
On to Bukhara
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Bukhara. On arrival, we check in to our hotel and have free time. At a time set by our guide, we have dinner among Bukhara's architectural landmarks. After dinner, we have free time. We spend the night at the hotel.

Exploring Bukhara
After breakfast at the hotel, we begin our city tour of Bukhara. One of the oldest cities in Uzbekistan, Bukhara holds an important place among Central Asia's cultural and religious centres. Throughout its thousands of years of history, it has been a centre of education and culture in the Islamic world. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city is an open-air museum with its historic buildings, madrasahs, mosques and bathhouses. During the tour, we will see Lebi Havuz Mosque, the Jewish Quarter, Poyi Kalon Complex, Kalan Minaret, built by the Karakhanids, the first Turkish Islamic state, Mir Arap Madrasah, Uluğbey Madrasah and Çar Minar Madrasah. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel for free time. After dinner, we stay overnight at the hotel.
04Buhara - SemerkantWe visit Registon Square, Guri Emir and the Şahı Zinde Mausoleum.
Arriving in Samarkand
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Semerkant. This historic city, a cultural and commercial centre of Central Asia thanks to its strategic location on the Silk Road, is one of Uzbekistan's oldest cities. Our itinerary includes visits to İmam Maturidi Hazretleri, Übeydullah Ahrar Hazretleri, Afrosiyab Archaeological Museum, paper workshops using techniques dating back to the 8th century, Guri Emir (Emir Timur), Registon Square, Uluğbey Madrasa, Uluğbey Observatory, Şirdar Madrasa, Tillakari Madrasa, Kökeldaş Madrasa, Siyab Market and Şahı Zinde Mausoleum. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel and have free time. After dinner, we stay overnight at the hotel.
05Samarkand - TashkentWe see Barak Han Madrasah, Tilla Şeyh Mosque and Tashkent Bazaar.
Discovering Tashkent
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Tashkent. On arrival, we begin our city tour. Tashkent, the capital and largest city of Uzbekistan, is one of Central Asia's main centres of culture, trade and industry. With a history dating back to the 2nd century BC, the city has been home to various civilisations and was an important point on the Silk Road. In Tashkent, historic buildings and traditional ways of life coexist with modern city life. Sights on the tour include Barak Han Madrasa, Kaffal-i Şaşi Mausoleum, Tilla Şeyh Mosque, the original copy of the Holy Quran dating from the time of Hazreti Osman and held at Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı, Kökeldaş Madrasa, Tashkent Metro and Tashkent Bazaar. At the end of the tour, we transfer to our hotel and have free time. After dinner, we spend the night at the hotel.
06Tashkent - IstanbulA transfer to the airport and a return flight to Istanbul end the tour.
Journey home
After breakfast at the hotel, we will transfer to the airport at the time set by our guide. After completing baggage, ticket and passport procedures, we will depart for Istanbul at 15.15 on Turkish Airlines flight TK367. Our tour will end upon arrival at 18.40 local time.
