A Silk Road Journey in Six Days
This six day trip flies from Istanbul via Urgench to Khiva on Turkish Airlines. The route travels overland through Khiva, Bukhara, Samarkand and Tashkent, taking in landmarks such as Ichan Kale, the Poyi Kalon Complex, Registon Square and Tashkent Bazaar. Each city has its own guided tour, and dinner is included every evening. The return flight departs from Tashkent to Istanbul.

The route of the journey

01Istanbul - Urgench - KhivaIchan Kale, the Kunya-Ark fortress and Islam Hoca Madrasa.
Via Urgench to Khiva
We meet in front of the Türk Hava Yolları counter at the International Departures Terminal of Istanbul Airport 3 hours before the flight. You must be at the airport on the evening 1 day before the departure date stated in the tour itinerary. After completing baggage, ticket and passport procedures, we depart for Urgench at 01.35 on Türk Havayolları flight TK 262. We arrive in Urgench at 07.25 local time and travel to Khiva in the vehicle waiting for us at the airport.
Upon arrival in Khiva, we begin our city tour. The tour covers UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ichan Kale, the old Kunya-Ark fortress, Cuma Mosque, İslam Hoca Madrasa and Minaret, Allah kulu Han Madrasa, Muhammed Emin han, Muhammed Rahim Han Madrasa, Şirgazi Han Madrasa, Pehlivan Dervaze Gate and Taşkale Caravanserai. After the tour, we have free time for shopping in Khiva’s bazaars. Dinner and overnight accommodation are at our hotel in Khiva.

On to Bukhara
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Bukhara. Upon arrival in Bukhara, we check in to our hotel and have free time. At the time set by our guide, we have dinner among Bukhara's architectural landmarks. After dinner, we have free time. We spend the night at the hotel.

Bukhara City Tour
After breakfast at the hotel, we begin our city tour of Bukhara. One of Uzbekistan's oldest and most historic cities, Bukhara holds an important place among Central Asia's cultural and religious centers. Throughout its history spanning thousands of years, it has been a center of education and culture in the Islamic world. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city is an open-air museum with its historic buildings, madrasas, mosques and bathhouses. During the tour, we will see Lebi Havuz Mosque, the Jewish Quarter, the Poyi Kalon Complex, Kalan Minaret, built by the Karakhanids, the first Turkish Islamic state, Mir Arap Madrasa, Uluğbey Madrasa and Çar Minar Madrasa. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel and have free time. After dinner, we spend the night at the hotel.
04Buhara - SemerkantRegiston Square, Guri Emir and Şahı Zinde Mausoleum.
On to Samarkand
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Semerkant. Strategically located on the Silk Road, the city is one of Central Asia's cultural and commercial centres and one of the oldest cities in Uzbekistan. Our itinerary includes visits to İmam Maturidi Hazretleri, Übeydullah Ahrar Hazretleri, Afrosiyab Archaeological Museum, paper workshops using techniques dating back to the 8th century, Guri Emir (Emir Timur), Registon Square, Uluğbey Madrasa, Uluğbey Observatory, Şirdar Madrasa, Tillakari Madrasa, Kökeldaş Madrasa, Siyab Bazaar and Şahı Zinde Mausoleum. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel and have free time. Following dinner, we spend the night at the hotel.
05Samarkand - TashkentBarak Han Madrasa, Tilla Şeyh Mosque and Tashkent Bazaar.
On to Tashkent
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Tashkent. Upon arrival, we begin our city tour. Tashkent, the capital and largest city of Uzbekistan, is one of Central Asia's main cultural, trade and industrial centres. Dating back to the 2nd century BC, the city has been home to many civilisations and was an important point on the Silk Road. Tashkent brings together traditional and modern elements, with historic buildings and lively city life. During the tour, we will see Barak Han Madrasa, Kaffal-i Şaşi Mausoleum, Tilla Şeyh Mosque, Kökeldaş Madrasa, Tashkent Metro and Tashkent Bazaar. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel and have free time. After dinner, we stay overnight at the hotel.
06Tashkent - IstanbulEarly transfer to the airport, then the flight to Istanbul.
Return from Tashkent
After breakfast at the hotel, we transfer to the airport at the time specified by our guide. After completing baggage, ticket and passport formalities, we depart for Istanbul at 09.55 on Turkish Airlines flight TK369. Our tour ends upon arrival at 13.20 local time.
